Update: The Raiders are expected to have discussions with Brooks, who was recently let go by the Saints, the Oakland Tribune reports.

Recommendation: Brooks is tentatively scheduled to arrive in Oakland on Monday night and meet with the team Tuesday. Brooks started 82 consecutive games for New Orleans from 2000 into 2005 before being benched late last season in favor of Todd Bouman. Brooks, who obviously could benefit from a fresh start, seems to be a good fit for the Raiders' offense, being a strong downfield passer with good mobility.
IMO, Brooks best days are behind him. He'll be nothing but the same ole Aaron in Oakland that he was in NO. If Raiders can get him for cheap, it wouldn't be too bad of a move.
