For fun, I did a coin flip (well, poker chip flip, to eliminate the weight bias in a coin) bracket.

    Pennsylvania over LSU
    Belmont over Memphis
    George Mason over Air Force
    Ohio State over Monmouth/Hampton

    Belmont over Pennsylvania
    Ohio State over George Mason

    Belmont over Ohio State

Cincinnati would just find new ways of blowing it. Might as well give Bradley an opportunity.

Besides, if you're going to complain(which is what you do best Kash), complain about them being snubbed for the college mess that is Arizona. With or without Adams, they should be holed up in the NIT.

That doesn't make much sense to me at all.

Sure they choke in the 2nd Round a lot. I have said that many times myself and don't like it. It's one of the reasons I was ready to see Huggins go. However, that shouldn't preclude them from getting into the tournament to begin with. They do GET to the 2nd Round.

Anyway, UC pretty much got shafted this year. They had almost the exact same record they had a couple of years ago when they got an (8, I think) seed. They were also in C-USA that season, which means their schedule was much weaker.

As a WVU fan, you shouldn't really be talking.

At leat UC is among the top 10 programs all-time in terms of the all-important number of National Championships.

I seem to remember them always bowing out early under Huggins.
As a Cincy fan, I'm sure you missed that.

I don't think you read my above post very well.

If Huggins still coached this team, they would be in. Hope Zimpher likes being the one that cost UC their streak of 15 years of making the NCAAs. Now they can bow out of the NITs after the second round.

Cincy had their chance, all they had to do was beat SU and they were in.

They might have been in because of name recognition. I don't think their record would have been any better. In fact, I'm not sure it would have been good. The team that had almost the same record as this one a couple of years ago had more players and talent available and in a much weaker conference, but they didn't do any better than this team.

UC won its biggest games this season through playing an up-tempo style. I don't think they would have beat teams like WVU or Syracuse @ Syracuse using Huggins' slower style.

Yet they finished the season (5-5), which usually gets a team in. Having done bracket analysis to make my own field projections over the last few years, it is clear that UC is the best profile to not make the tournament in years, at the very least. That's not as a homer. That's just looking at their profile.

The committee has made the claim that teams get bids and conferences don't and that has pretty much been true up until this year. I'm not sure they felt justified giving the Big East (9) bids, even if percentage wise that wouldn't have been different than some other conferences.

That, combined with Kennedy being a first-year interim coach, probably was UC's downfall in terms of getting into the tournament.

The committee's strange decisions weren't limited to UC, however. Missouri State was No. 21 in the RPI, yet they didn't get in. Before this year, no team in the RPI Top 32 had ever been excluded from the tournament. They made a LOT of strange decisions this year.

I think we could see a bunch of blowouts in the tourney games this year because of the poor placement, seeding and selections made by this mid-major-dominated committee.

See, I think you're wrong there.

I think it's going to be just like every March, a bunch of close games with upsets sprinkled around, most, if not all, expected though.

I am so hyped up for Wichita-Seton Hall.

I just don't expect many of the teams who didn't deserve to get in to play well in March against the superior teams.

Yeah, but you have to consider that some of the players who left may not have left with Huggins in command.

That is certainly true. That was the worst part about his firing happening when it did, for me.
