The Yankees have been surprisingly quiet in the free agent market this year. They have glaring needs in their pitching staff/bullpen, plus a need to upgrade over Bernie Williams or Bubba Crosby in Center. Usually not an issue, the Yankees have refused to match the number of years Johnny Damon is demanding through his agent, Scott Boras and they missed out on Wagner, resigning Gordon, and adding a solid lefty in BJ Ryan. Makes you wonder if, as the Boss has had some well publicized questions on his age and reign on the Yankees throne, that he is starting to be more conscious of age and, heaven forbid, money.
Why else would he have passed up on the sauteed Marlin, Burnett?
I guess a cable network can only do... so much. Remember that, Mets.
