Brett Hull, the NHL's third all-time leading scorer, will announce his retirement Saturday night.

The 41-year-old Hull played in all five of the Phoenix Coyotes' games this season, albeit sparingly under coach Wayne Gretzky. The Coyotes are 1-3-1.

Hull was to announce his retirement at a news conference before tonight's game against the Detroit Red Wings.

The son of legendary NHL great Bobby Hull, Brett Hull scored 741 goals since joining the league in 1985-86.
