No, he is not. While his power numbers are staggering, Albert Pujols' numbers are absolutely insane. He has a 1.047 OPS on the best team in baseball, and his 35 HR's and 99 RBI's are right on par with Jones'. While one could make a case that Jones is more vital to his teams success, Albert has had to carry the load for the Cardinals offense more than usual. Rolen is done for the year and Edmonds and Walker have not been as good as previous years.

Albert Pujols is the MVP for the National League this year. Jones is only hitting .260 for the past month, isnt even in the top 10 of OPS (which adds OBP and Slu and is IMO a better stat) his ops of .950 is good for 11th in the NL while Pujols (1.045) is #2 behind Derek Lee (who if the cubs didnt choke would be MVP right now), he is leading the offense that has been without its full lineup almost everyday since day one and is closer to the glorious triple crown than Andruw Jones could ever dream. He is tied for 2nd in batting average behind of course Derek Lee, Jones isnt even top 40 in majors.

I'm sorry Slyder..can't hate on Druw like that. Not top 40 in the Majors? *****, please.
Point and the win to Marinersfan. Blown save to Slyder.
The face time is yours!

Ah your kidding.
Andruw Jones is hitting .275.
Papi is hitting .295 for 40th in MLB.

1/1 in this thing I guess.
I'll take the time to pimp a thing that I'm doing on the Mariners forum (http://strike3forums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=18). I'm evaluating all the fringe players on the team this year and voting on whether they should start next year. I did one on Jeremy Reed a few days ago and I'll probably be doing one on Yorvit Torrealba tonight. Go over there, vote, discuss, etc.

After reviewing the play...the ruling on the field is overturned. Slyder's point was misunderstood and a tie is declared, whence both parties are given a win. Statboy is charged a time out.
Slyder, feel free to enjoy your face time too.

Just pray for the SE. New Orleans got lucky when that storm tilted to the east right before landfall.

And that is going to do it for tonight, shorties. We'll see you Wednesday in the MLB General forum, where we will enjoy an all-baseball show, created thanks to your input.
