A penis. Sounds a legit
:truestory: :jokercat:
I'm less pissed at Bradley and more pissed at:
1) Cameron. Jesus christ. You cannot "clear" the ball backwards to your opponent. Just can't.
2) Zusi. Apparently his slow subbing out added one extra minute to stoppage time. Ugh.
3) The ref. I mean, really, adding an extra minute of stoppage time? Did ya have to?
4) The stupid chicks at the bar I was at who spent the entire game "rooting" for USA but talking about how "sexy" Ronaldo is.
5) Myself. Any team I root for is gonna lose. I should know better.
I just don't understand why all the sudden people give a shit about soccer
intercourse the world cup, I'm going to bed.
You have to understand the point of time the game was at. This would be like Peyton Manning dropping back to pass on 2nd and 1, with 30 seconds left in the 4th quarter, up by 4. There is NO excuse for that bad of a give away period.
I thought Cameron played a hell of a game after that and was one of the big reasons USA led late in the 2nd half.
Any competitive game subs are going to act exactly like Zusi did.
They add on time to compensation for goals, injuries, etc. Was 5 minutes the right amount of time? You could debate that but with subs, injuries, goals, etc there needed to be some time added.
I can't help you with those last two.
Don't misunderstand me, if I were to step back and observe from an unbiased perspective, I mostly agree. Yes, Bradley can't give that ball away. Yes, Cameron played better after his brutal fuck up. And yes most subs will do what Zusi did.
That said, if you are to argue that Cameron played better after, I'd argue that the back line had every chance to clear the ball after Bradley's turnover and failed to. It was bad, but you want your team to bail you out of that mistake. They had every chance to bail him out and failed.
We were the better team for about 80 minutes. That's not good enough, unfortunately.
I'm not blaming Cameron or Zusi, really, any more than I'm really saying that Bradley is getting a disproportionate amount of blame. Someone told abc news radio (where I work) that Bradley should be kicked off the US team. Insane.
Tonight was deflating. Gut wrenching even. End of the day, the US has to regroup. They control their own destiny. Time to earn your advancement.

And if you asked anyone before the World Cup what our dream scenario would be you would get exactly where we are. 4 pts and control our own destiny. That is exactly where we are, tie/win and we advance, lose vs Germany and here's the tie breakers. Yes it sucks to lose 2 points like that but this is a time for perspective and look at what our goals are and where we stand.
- Goal differential (Germany 4, U.S. 1, Ghana -1, Portugal -4)
- Goals scored (Germany 6, U.S. 4, Ghana 3, Portugal 2)
- Head to head result (The U.S. beat Ghana, but drew against Portugal)
I hope Portugal gets a couple early goals and US/Germany can relax.
Sure. I wasn't reacting in context though. I was reacting to that game alone which was brutal to lose those points. We're not in a bad spot, just not as good as it almost was.
