Rumor: LeBron+Wade+Bosh in Miami?

Although speculation on a Wade-James-Bosh pairing has centered on each of the three taking less than maximum salaries to make the math work, one NBA team executive told the Sun Sentinel Monday that it was his belief that not all of the players involved are receptive to such an approach. Regardless, in order to accommodate Wade and two other signings near their maximum free-agent salary of roughly $16.6 million, the Heat would have to trade second-year forward Michael Beasley.

FWIW, Jon Barry said he doesn't buy the rumor. No matter whether they still believe in Michael Beasley or not, the Heat roster would basically be a 3-man team surrounded by 7, 8 guys making the minimum.

Stephen A. Smith was reporting a week ago that Lebron had decided to play for the Knicks. And now today he's been reporting the same story here that LeBron+Bosh are joining Wade in Miami. Meh. I'll believe it when I see it.

That doesn't surprise me. Every reporter wants to be the first, or among the first, to get it before it happens so they will pounce on any rumor and parade with it.

Sounds amazing on paper, but super teams created out of FA aren't always a sure bet either.

With apologies to Stephen A. Smith, this rumor that he first reported is looking more and more like an impossibility.

But I'm amused by the thought of LeBron being the third highest paid player in Miami if Wade gets his max deal and Bosh is acquired in a sign-and-trade.
