Well, since the CBA has been agreed upon, might as well have this. I was reading an article on ESPN...I like this tidbit the most:

In the meantime, general managers and agents will be poring over the new CBA, rumored to be in excess of 600 pages. One source told ESPN.com the section dealing with the salary cap is 100 pages.

How about the Mighty Ducks letting Mike Babcock walk? That's a very stupid move. I know Brian Burke wants to hire his own guy, but geez. He had no interest in retaining Babcock so Babcock moved on. I think Detroit is going to get a special head coach.

No kidding. Maybe Legace will finally be brilliant the way everyone pimps him to be.

Isn't Cujo the #1 goaltender over there?

On the flip side, I think Dave Lewis is a good coach. He deserved better. Red Wings took advantage of his contract in which it expired so that set the motion for the Wings to hire Babcock.

Heh...I thought Legace was 1st on the chart.

On the flipside, can't wait to see Chara end some people on open ice.

no new CBA yet but it sounds like the owners won

Cujo could be released or the wings could buy him out given his salary

Sean Avery and Legace was right to call out the PA and Goodenow

btw espn would be the last place i check for NHL

Burke low-balled Babcock with a one year extension offer. Stupid move, agree. Like with Ron Wilson, the Ducks GM let the coach walk because of politics.

Sad day for the Devils organization and also for hockey as Pat Burns will not be returning as the Devils hockey coach. That's too bad as he is entering treatment again. He was diagonsed with cancer last year and apparently, it is not going well. Hopefully, Burnsie will continue to beat the odds. He is going to be missed. I thought he did a darn good job in his two years here including winning the Stanley Cup. With that said, I think it was best that the Devils had to move on. As good as he was, eventually he was going to lose his players.

Larry Robinson will likely be the coach. With him there, Devils games will be exciting to see at least and you know he will go for it in OT instead of going for a tie like Burns would always do in OT if the game is tie. With that said, I wish Lamoriello would go after Mike Babcock, who is a free agent since the Ducks never renewed his contract for some crazy reason.

I hope for the best for Pat Burns and hopefully he will be coaching in the NHL down the road.

I don't think the Devils will be the same team. Some key players are also rumored to leave. Good luck to Pat, and thanks for everything.

the Edmonton Oilers will have to address their no. 1 centre problem, they might also have to find a new goalie if Jussi Markkanen doesn't come back from Europe

NHL annouced today that a CBA has been agreed on in principal. A huge relief for hockey fans everywhere.

As for Babcock, Brian Burke's philosophy includes playing exciting hockey. Babcock's style is really boring and defensive. Fans in Anahiem are going to be treated with some exciting hockey for the first time in a long time.

Also, they won't be known as the mighty ducks for long...hopefully they change the name before this season starts. I'm sure the process has already been started.
