Sources: All signs point to Nebraska to Big Ten - ESPN
After this there is apparently 6 teams going to the Pac 10. 5 are about givens Texas, TT, Oklahoma, Ok State, and aTm (Texas A&M). The Sixth school is down to Baylor and Colorado theres some political pressure to try and get Baylor over Colorado but thats the next step.
The question becomes how far the Big 10 goes. Notre Dame could be the one school that could possibly save the Big East. If they go to the Big 10, it would probably mean theyd add Mizzou and call it a day at 14. SEC may respond with Cryami, FSU, Ga Tech, and Clemson to SEC. WIth those teams gone the ACC might actually be in a weaker position than the Big East.
If ND values its independence over a seat at the table (some rumors the conferences dont like ND getting a free ride) then the Big 10 could go after Syracuse, Rutgers, UConn, and/or Pitt and making the entire debate a moot point.
I'd be all over trying to convince Maryland, Va Tech, and BC to ditch the hollier than thou pompous blue bloods. Then cherry pick a 4th team to get to 12 just to protect yourself in the future. Also this would require a split of from the bball schools(unless they realize football is the big dog now). Leave open scheduling in basketball so that you can incorporate a Big East/(insert conference name) challenge to allow for tv games like Georgetown vs UConn to continue.
