The conference names are evolving to brand names rather than staying true to geography, or math in the Big Ten's case.

Yes come to the Big X or Big XII where football is king and math isn't our strong suit!

    TCU

    West Virginia

Being reported by a TCU board that claim pretty strong sources. If this is true then the ACC is about to get butt hurt by the Big 10 and SEC simultaneously. I hope this is true because I want to be able to watch and yell KHARMA'S A ***** EH SWOFFORD? As the blue bloods get knocked down a few pegs.

I don't understand how the ACC would be in a position to be ransacked but the Big East won't be, considering the ACC had the power to grab Miami, Va Tech, and BC from the Big East in the first place.

If the Big 10 is wanting to prove this is about more than just football who would add more than UVa, Maryland, and a Carolina School? The accredidations and research funds alone dwarf anything that UConn, Syracuse, and Rutgers could add. If the Big 10 is looking at the most money Maryland adds DC and Baltimore (legitimately), Virginia has a population of 7 mil. Thats more than any 4 of the Big East schools (sans WVU) combined could add.

Okay, the addition of TV money makes sense. But why would an athletic conference care about research funds when it is research funds that come from athletics?

It could be a bullet point that could be used to say that it was about more than just BcS, tv, football money. Weak but it might just keep DC off the case a bit longer.

    TCU TO THE BIG EAST!

I gotta say that would at least put a name most everyone has heard of before in the conference. I would feel sorry for TCU if they were the only addition. If its the first of many it makes more possible sense.
It's official. Hope you like Horny Frogs.

Eh, I told you the ACC would make the move on Big East and not vice versa.

I've grown to accept that the Big East has idiots in charge in Providence. I'm more worried now about missing the bus and not getting into the SEC.

Schools I feel sorry for when this is done (assuming WVU at some point gets in the SEC):
Louisville= No real solid options, great facilities, and had really become a pretty good rival with WVU (wish they'd stay on the bball schedule at least).
USF= Put a lot of money into their program to try and make that jump and almost got there before the Big East fell apart. Although if FSU is indeed pissed enough to end up in the SEC... USF might find itself a home.
TCU= They seem as cursed as we are, everytime they try and do something to improve themselves it either falls apart or backfires.

Rest of the Big 12 and Big East bleh.

i feel bad... well, not bad, im just sad that its gone... for big east basketball. best basketball in the country, actual defense is being played instead of bullshit run and gun, one on one basketball. the acc was a cheap knockoff... except now, it more or less is big east basketball. regardless of uconns status in football, the acc needs to grab uconn just for basketball.

and hey, maybe now the johnnies can win the conference !

TCU really got boned when the Southwest Conference disbanded. I think it was a better brand of football when the eight Texas schools had their own conference. Of course, it helped the product on the field that players were getting paid.

Per ESPN, Mizzou informally joins SEC, but SEC is denying this. Who is to believe right now?

This college conference reconfiguration is getting interesting each passing day.
