NBA Which color analyst will jump back to coaching first?

This is the NBA, in case you were slow. And Mark Jackson is not on the list. While he is an analyst for ESPN, he has never coached before.

Good. I would ban you if you ever have that buffoon Bob Brenly in a similar poll.

Not to hint at racism, but I think Avery goes back to coaching first since, since he can better "relate to players".

I thought Byron Scott was white too.

You win. I can't believe the Sixers snubbed Tom Thibodeau again.

Evan Turner/Derrick Favors does have appeal for a coach. Thaddeus Young, Jrue Holiday, ...if only they could find a way to make Brand evaporate and trade Igg for something. Who knows.

The Cavs just gave last year's coach of the year Mike Brown the Marty Schottenheimer/Grady Little treatment.

The Russian Gangster looks to be hiring Avery Johnson. Is that the splash you wanted to make? Devin Harris is on suicide watch.

Byron Scott and all of the Van Gundy's remain on the rumor list, behind Tom Izzo, for the Cavaliers.

Jeff "I never get enough sleep" Van Gundy isn't leaving ESPN this year. Stan "Ron Jeremy" Van Gundy will probably re-up with the Magic. Byron Scott will be an analyst for another year. Tom Izzo is apparently, probably, most likely, to take the Cavs job.

Avery Johnson can't be that bad for Devin Harris, considering the most success Devin had enjoyed was under Avery. It's not like Joe Torre and Scott Proctor reunited. And there's no way Tom Izzo takes the Cavs job if LeBron isn't there.

Re: Which color analyst will jump back to coaching first?

Devin Harris was an all-star without AJ. I've just read that during their time together in Dallas, it wasn't pretty most of the time. Then again, maybe it's because it's a coach who's pushing Harris to his limits. I don't know. I still don't think this is quite the splash this monster of an owner has been promising. At this rate, their best free agent signing is going to be someone like Kyle Korver or Andrei Kirilenko or any other white colored Jazz player.

Izzo would be doubling his salary if he took the job, that's incentive don't you think? I would hate for him to take it though, he's one of a handful of future hall of fame college coaches that don't need to bother with the pros.

By success, I meant winning games. But fair enough if indeed Devin and AJ don't get along with each other. It wouldn't surprise me.

As for Izzo, I don't know. Sure he'll get paid handsomely but does he want to follow NBA flops such as Pitino, Kruger, Montgomery? We saw Billy Donovan waffled after just one day on the job.

I think he wised up, even though he's been on a rut with his heralded recruits flaming out or leaving too soon. I don't doubt that there's a college coach who could make the transition.... if they spent reasonable time as an assistant in the NBA first. Clearly, the barometer would be Coach K or Roy Williams. If they tried it, and failed, it's likely we'll never see a college coach jump from that level straight to head coaching in the NBA...ever be successful.

I'd rather see Izzo stay. He's good for college basketball. Not only that, to me there is no other appeal at this time other than 5-6 million a year. No Lebron? Who wants to coach a team who's best player is Varajao or Mo Williams?
