NBA NBA Rookie of the Year race

The three rookie guards all had great seasons. By all accounts, they are the three guys who'll be considered for the Rookie of the Year award. If you had to choose one of these guys for the ROY, who would it be? Also, if you had to pick one of these guys for the future, who would it be?

Curry: 17.2 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 5.9 apg and 1.9 spg, 46% FG, 43.5% from three. Team is 25-55.

Jennings: 15.6 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 5.8 apg, 1.3 spg, 37% FG, 37% from three. Team is 45-36 and in the playoffs.

    Evans: 20.3 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 5.8 apg, 1.5 spg, 45% FG, 25.5% from three. Team is 25-56.

Tyreke the Freak will win the ROY, but I would pick the Curry as my franchise player. A killer jump shot doesn't erode over time as other skills.

Tyreke Evans is one of 4 rookies to average 20-5-5 in a season. (James, Jordan, Robertson i believe were the others).

He wins. Curry 2nd, Jennings 3rd.

At least Jennings is going to the playoffs, although it will be short lived without the Aussie in the middle. Just make them all share the RoY.

Sort of like how SLAM once had no idea whether to give it to Wince, Pierce or Jason Williams, so they just printed three different covers.

    Didn't Steve Francis average like a 20-6-6?

'kay, nevermind, after further review, it was 18-5.3-6. Close, but no cigar.

Re: NBA Rookie of the Year race

My vote goes to Curry, although there's a great case to be made for Tyreke Evans. Jennings has also had a good year and certainly contributed to his team's entry into the playoffs, but it was John Salmons that actually made the difference. Without that trade deadline deal, the Bucks wouldn't be in the playoffs either. Jennings' 30-something field goal percentage is a huge negative and what ultimately keeps him out of the final discussion.

I can't really argue with Evans as the call, but I feel that Curry has been a better player this season and deserves the award. It also probably doesn't hurt that his late round selection led my fantasy basketball team to a first place championship and a $100 prize.

You were right, Chase Budinger is a solid player. I didn't think much of him, but I also didn't have him sliding past the first round. Dork Elvis struck again.

I still think its a douchebag move to strip Dell Curry of his ROY voting rights just because his son is eligible. You can't tell me that if MJ's son was eligible for ROY that they would actually strip the greatest basketball player of all time of his voting rights.

BTW, Tyreke will be your NBA ROY.
