NBA Elgin Baylor out in Clipperland?

realmofotalk just did back flips. Or maybe he's sad because he won't be able to make fun of Baylor anymore. Who knows.

So I'm the resident Clipper fan by default?

Elgin Baylor can make good trades (Ron Harper for Danny Ferry, Elton Brand for Tyson Chandler, Sam Cassell for Marko Jaric). He just mostly sucks at drafting, and that's a no go for a perennial lottery team.

The Clippers have yet to win a game since Mike Dunleavy's power consolidation.

Jeez, the Clippers' own veteran broadcaster, Ralph Lawler, makes better picks than Elgin.

    CLIPPERS: Draft 2004: Lawler’s Mock Draft (6/21)
    #4) CLIPPERS - Devin Harris
    Guard | 6-3 | Wisconsin

He's a pure point guard, a littler taller than Ben Gordon and more experienced than Shaun Livingston. He can step in and play right now, but Gordon and Livingston will be in the mix right up until Draft Day. Whatever---at #4 the Clippers should have their pick of the point guard litter. A little Lottery luck and an excellent trade has the Clippers in a perfect situation to fill a need.

With the fourth pick of the 2004 NBA Draft, the Clippers select...Shaun Livingston

    Ralph suggests Danny Granger

With the 12th pick of the 2005 NBA Draft, the Clippers select...Yaroslav Korolev

GM Mike Dunleavy gone from Clippers

March 9, 2010 · Filed Under Los Angeles Clippers, News
The Los Angeles Clippers and General Manager Mike Dunleavy today have severed ties. Dunleavy previously also served as the team’s head coach from 2003-04 until February 4, 2010, when he resigned as head coach.
The organization has determined that the goal of building a winning team is best served by making this decision at this time. The team has simply not made sufficient progress during Dunleavy’s seven-year tenure. The Clippers want to win now. This transition, in conjunction with a full commitment to dedicate unlimited resources, is designed to accomplish that objective.
