Completely besides the point.
If you want to argue that they should have drafted Wells or Greene that's a completely different argument (and one I might agree with)
But that wasn't a factor when they let Turner go and it's already well after the fact when the decision of whether or not to give Sproles 7.3 million was made.
They can't go back in time and draft Wells or Greene. Their options were Tolbert+Bennett+Hester+rookie, Tolbert+Bennett+Hester+overpaying some other free agent RB on the market right now or Sproles+Tolbert+Hester+rookie.
Of those options, I prefer the last.
I wouldn't mind if they signed Thomas Jones, though.

Forget about the draft pick compensation with Turner. How about actually keeping Turner around in the event LT breaks down? Considering A.J. dished out long term contracts prematurely to scrubs like Matt Wilhelm and Jyles Tucker to plan for the future, there's no excuse to let Turner walk the way he did. And no, LT wasn't the MVP the year Turner was a FA. That was the year LT sat out the AFC championship game.

I think the move you should be more pissed off about is that they're poised to give up Cromartie to the Jets for a 2nd or 3rd round pick. Ouch. Reevis + Cromartie = Wow.
Cromartie is the poster child for why interceptions (the defensive statistic) are overrated. I find it laughable that Charger fans can logically vouch for Quentin Jammer being a shutdown corner despite his lack of INT's but then contradict themselves on why they feel Cromartie was deserving of Pro Bowl status.

Eh, you can take Turner back. I don't know how many more seasons carrying a full load his body can handle.

Cromartie's a pussy and I'm happy to see him go.

Uh huh. Don't forget to remove your Cromartie one-handed leaping catch Fathead from the wall before crying in the corner at which it overlooks.

Way to be a b-itch by editing the thread title. Taking your frustrations out on the Raiders just makes you a sore loser.

If I had one I'd burn it.
I'm not going to lie. I was a fan after that 2007 season, but he lost me this season and sealed an unfavorable opinion of him after that embarrassing display against his new teammates in the playoff game.

The problem now is Cason isn't physically gifted enough like Cromartie to get up and fight for the ball against taller receivers, so you can probably still expect a lot of catches given up on the same side of the field. But the one thing he has going for him is that he's a former U. of Arizona defensive back, so you know he cares about helping out against the run.
