NHL 2009/2010 season thread
way too late starting this with 2010 just around the corner but oh well
Washington proving that last season was no joke especially Semyon Varlamov who a seriious contender for the Calder and could get some Vezina votes too if he out-right wins the starter job from Theodore, they been splitting games evenly right now.
Colorado had a great start for sure a young team but has cooled off in the last onth or so
Phoenix is doing very well right now, Ilya Bryzgalov is carrying this team and hopefully they can keep it up unlike in the 2nd half of last season, and again, thank you Brian Burke thank you.
Toronto sucks so bad that it looks great on Burke and Ron Wilson, I'll stop the Burke bashing for now , ok i lied Anaheim sucks and I like it seeing it, although not all Burke's fault but its Bob Murray's for not firing Randy Carlyle.
My Edmonton Oilers can't shake the injury bug and with Ales Hemsky out for the year the only reason I can watch is hoping for the younger player to get better, but they just won 3 straight on the road against DAL,, DET and FLA.
I have really liked how Gainey rebuilt the team Montreal Canadiens in the off-season, but the injury Markov hit them so hard so its great to see them still play well so far
Dany Heatley hurt me in the off-season so I hope the Sharks lose once again in the 1st round.
one last thing is that I can't wait for the under 20 World Junior Champsonships to start on the 26th and the winter Olympics for some great international hockey

Somehow despite losing the entire D to injury, the Pens have been kicking tail too. Awesome.

Bob Murray ought to be fired before Randy Carlyle does. I don't know any other GM stupid enough to reverse one of the better trades in his team's history. We've been waiting for Lupul's 40-goal potential to come to fruition for how many years now? Luca Sbisa? An Italian teenager belongs in the pizza kitchen, not on the hockey rink.

Olympic team rosters have been released. I know I should be rooting for Team USA, but it's nice that Canada reunited Pronger with Getzlaf, Perry, and Niedermayer.

Team Canada going with the big San Jose line too with Heatley-Thornton-Marleau as well and I love the Keith-Seabrook pairing from Chicago
only selection I didn't like at all was Eric Staal, havving a decent but nothing great
Team USA could be better, why take take Chris Drury? 14 pts in 39 games is terrible for someone of his status, but USA has the arguably the best goalie in Ryan Miller this season

Re: NHL 2009/2010 season thread
its no surprise at all even with Pat Quinn doing his best out there
very good start but injuries, flu and more injuries has done this
Ales Hemsky been out for the year for a while now, Souray had a concussion that kept him out ad hasn't really looked the same since the start, the flu and H1N1 destroyed the team for a month or more
at one point the oilers were playing with 2 d-men who started the season for a while
Khabibulin the starting goalie has missed about the last 20 games and no return date for his injury (his back) yet
Dustin Penner the only bright spot this team has, what a turn around in his career with Quinn there
Only looking forward to the trade deadline and the chance to draft to Taylor Hall

Ah shit, Jason Blake's $4 million cap hit runs through 2011-12. Jesus, Toronto's previous GM is a ****ing moron. There had better be a way to buy out that stiff at least a year before that contract ends.
