Re: Favre reportedly to sign with Vikings today
I still think Jackson progressed enough to be effective in this offense. Favre was a desperation move IMO. If hes not the sure thing, what's the point. I felt if they got a guy like T.J. or Coles at WR. They would be just fine.

I agree completely. My dad's a Vikings fan, so I've seen Jackson play, and I'll be the first to tell you he's absolutely terrible.
But, why not give John David Booty a shot to earn a job instead of setting yourself back with one year of Favre followed by another media circus?
Re: Favre reportedly to sign with Vikings today
Media circus creates revenue. Vikings have been pushing for a new stadium.

Yeah. I guess. So does winning. And based on last year, Favre will only do a semi-decent job at that.
Re: Favre reportedly to sign with Vikings today
This is why the Jackie Robinsons, Tony Gwynns, and the Cal Ripkens are so beloved by their fanbase while Selfish Brett breaks their f---ing hearts.

He'll do a better job than Tavaris Jakson or Sage Rossenfeld would.
The Vikings also have a much better running game and defense than the Jets had.
I should know all about their running game with how many times Mofo has posted the number 256.

If Jackson and Rossenfeld, as terrible as they are, are slated to be the front runners for the starting job with Booty already on the roster what does that tell you about how well Booty has performed in practices?

The ponit is to give your team a better QB than Tavaris Jackson or Sage Rossenfeld.
Sage Rossenfeld....now THAT was a desperation move.

The Jets had a pretty good running game last year...

Yeah, but I'd still rather give him a shot. I can't imagine he's gotten to run with the first team very often...

They didn't have Adrian Peterson

There's probably a reason for that.
When a team is letting Sage Rossenfeld and Tavaris Jackson fight for the starting spot I do not want to see the guy that's behind the likes of them starting for my team.

I don't know what's going to be better, Vikings @ Green Bay or Eagles @ Falcons if McNabb is on the shelf.

I agree 100% with Zito. The guys body of work is amazing. Even if people don't like him as a person it won't stop him from getting into Canton.

We'll probably have to do this again next offseason. Since I could see him playing one more year after this. The only reason he retired this offseason was because he didn't want to play for New York again. He's wanted to go to the Vikings since before the Packers released him.
We can avoid all this crap next year, if Favre wants to play, if the Vikings will give him a free pass not to attend training camp. Which is why he said no earlier this offseason. Favre even said on the Joe Buck show he thinks he could coach this offense. In GB he never had to go away for training camp like the Vikings do. He didn't want to go live in dorms for two weeks. So if he "retires" after this year. The Vikings will call him back up after training camp when they "realize they have nothing again."

I'm looking forward to the Eagles @ Falcons. I might try to go to that game. I haven't been to the GA Dome and this is the perfect time to go. I will be by than.
