    NBA National Basketball Association playoffs

    East

    (1) Cleveland over (8) Detroit in 4 games - this has turned into a joke of a season
    (2) Boston over (7) Chicago in 7 games - Garnett is out for the entire playoffs so that's why this series goes the distance.
    (3) Orlando over (6) Philadelphia in 4 games - I don't see how this is much of a series
    (5) Miami over (4) Atlanta in 7 games - Atlanta's great on their home floor, but the refs should give Wade an inordinate amount of calls in his favor

    West

    (1) Lakers over (8) Utah in 5 games - Utah's good on their home floor so they should win one, but it could very well be a sweep
    (2) Denver over (7) New Orleans in 7 games - I could actually see New Orleans winning this one. Denver's the weakest #2 seed in a long time.
    (3) San Antonio over (6) Dallas in 7 games - The Spurs go on one last mini-run but it's going to be tough without Manu and that's why this series goes the distance.
    (4) Portland over (5) Houston in 6 games - Brandon Roy makes the leap. Houston never goes past the first round anyways.

    Portland won't beat the Rockets.

They only beat them once this season, and that was via a half court buzzer beater by Roy.

Yao missed one of the games versus them this season..can't remember if it was the loss or one of the wins, but either way, they either lost to the Rockets WITHOUT Yao or they BARELY beat the Rockets without Yao.

Artest and Battier will shut down Brandon Roy.

    Re: National Basketball Association playoffs

    FIRST ROUND

    Eastern Conference
    (1) Cleveland over (8) Detroit in 4 games - Detroit is actually better without AI, but not nearly good enough here, playoff experience or not.
    (2) Boston over (7) Chicago in 5 games - Anyone who believes the Bulls will make this a close series is a little bit delusional. You think Paul Pierce isn't playing with an extra chip on his shoulder now that KG's out and everyone's counting out Boston?
    (3) Orlando over (6) Philadelphia in 5 games - Orlando/Chicago would be a much better series...too bad the Bulls committed a colossal choke job. Philly gets to Game 6 at best.
    (4) Atlanta over (5) Miami in 7 games - The Heat are a popular bandwagon pick for sure because of Wade...but Atlanta shut down their offense in the regular season

    Western Conference
    (1) Los Angeles over (8) Utah in 5 games - Utah's talented for sure, but never seemed to rise up this season like some expected. LA is just too good.
    (2) Denver over (7) New Orleans in 7 games - Chris Paul has been under-the-radar superhuman this season. This one will go down to the wire, but a Nuggets team that actually plays defense (!) will take this one.
    (3) San Antonio over (6) Dallas in 5 games - I like this matchup for the Spurs, even with a banged-up Duncan and no Ginobili. But they won't go much farther.
    (4) Portland over (5) Houston in 7 games - Another year...another first round exit.

    SECOND ROUND

    (1) Cleveland over (4) Atlanta in 5 - Cavs lose one on the road...but c'mon, do you really think Atlanta has any chance against a 39-2 home team? Neither did I.
    (2) Boston over (3) Orlando in 5 - The Magic lack that instinct to take them to the next level. I think the Celts are tough with or without KG.

    (1) LA Lakers over (4) Portland in 7 - The toughest possible draw for the Lakers IMO...home court advantage wins out here.
    (3) San Antonio over (2) Denver in 6 - I just can't go all chalky...and the Spurs are the Spurs. I have a tough time picking George Karl anyway.

    SEMIFINALS

    (1) Cleveland over (2) Boston in 6 - It's LeBron's world, we're all just living in it. No KG = a Game 6 loss as the Cavs celebrate in Boston.

    (1) LA Lakers over (3) San Antonio in 5 - Injuries catch up with San Anton as Gasol and Bynum dominate down low.

    FINALS

    (1) Cleveland over (1) LA Lakers in 7 - An NBA Finals for the ages as two of the game's all-time greats duel it out. LeBron will not be denied his first ring as the Cavs top the NBA World. At the parade, he gets on the mic and vows to stay in Cleveland.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

    East

    (1) Cleveland over (8) Detroit in 4 games - They should call this after game 3.
    (7) Chicago over (2) Boston in 7 games - Garnett is out for the entire playoffs and Chicago plays this team tough.
    (3) Orlando over (6) Philadelphia in 5 games - Dwight Howard is too much for Philly front line.
    (5) Miami over (4) Atlanta in 6 games - Wade will carry this team on his back for all 4 of the Heat wins.

    West

    (1) Lakers over (8) Utah in 6 games - Utah will win 2 at home.
    (7) New Orleans over (2) Denver in 6 games- Reefer will root for me to be wrong here.
    (3) San Antonio over (6) Dallas in 5 games - Want to see a Maverick disappear?
    (4) Portland over (5) Houston in 7 games - The Blazers depth will help deny TMac another playoff series win.

    First Round

    East
    (1) Cleveland over (8) Detroit
    (2) Boston over (7) Chicago - Even without KG, the Celtics steamroll the Bulls. Pierce will abuse Ben Gordon.
    (3) Orlando over (6) Philadelphia
    (5) Miami over (4) Atlanta

    West
    (1) Lakers over (8) Utah
    (2) Denver over (7) New Orleans - Denver's fortunes in the first round change for the better with Chauncey aboard.
    (3) San Antonio over (6) Dallas
    (4) Portland over (5) Houston

    Second Round
    (1) Cleveland over (5) Miami
    (2) Boston over (3) Orlando
    (4) Portland over (1) Lakers - Blazers are capable of stealing a game in L.A., and we never win in the Rose Garden
    (3) San Antonio over (2) Denver

    Conference Finals
    (1) Cleveland over (2) Boston
    (3) San Antonio over (4) Portland

NBA Finals: (1) Cleveland over (3) San Antonio

    Re: National Basketball Association playoffs

I would love to see Atlanta upset everyone in the NBA and make it to the Finals. I know it's very unlikely but it would be nice for this Atlanta fan.
