NBA Starbury is "on thin ice".

Marc Berman of the NY Post writes that Stephon Marbury is "on thin ice". Any guesses as to what happens to him?

"Walsh drew the ire of Ewing last spring for not extending him a courtesy interview for the Knicks' head-coaching job."

Imagine that. An ape going apeshit.

The Knicks traded for Ewing Jr. yesterday, giving the Rockets the draft rights to 7-foot center Frederic Weis - yes they still had the bum's rights - to complete the minor deal.
    Priceless.

ESPN - Knicks president says Marbury will be at camp; veteran Houston might, too - NBA

So do they want Marbury or do they not want him? This situation seems like it flip-flops as often as the Raiders with Lane Kiffin. Settle it once and for all, damnit.

Speaking of washed up players, Shareef Abdur-Rahim officially announced his retirement today. Who now takes over the title as losingest player in the NBA?

That's sad. He was good on NBA Live 99, 00, and 01.

He rocked when in Vancouver, playing for the Grizz.

This situation isn't going too well. The Knicks aren't cutting him, they're not trading him and they're not playing him. But they are paying him his money, at least. Looks like he'll be inactive for the long run.

Over/under on when Marbury plays basketball (any team): I'll put the date at February 24.

    I'll take the under.
And I'll place money on it being with another team.

There are other teams that want him, but they won't trade for him.
I'll go with the under, the player's association will probably get involved since Marbs is taking the case to them. I can see the Heat picking him up, the clippers if Baron Davis goes on IR vacation, or even the Warriors.. Nellie + Marbs = MTV caliber drama.

This is ****ing ridiculous. If you're not going to play him, CUT HIM! If you're not going to cut him, PLAY HIM...I don't like Steph but at least he's better than Mardy Collins or Nate "I might have the worst shot selection in the league" Robinson. There's no sense in paying him all that money to sit on the bench!
