Yahoo! User Rankings are the worst ever. What the **** is that.
And how doesn't Texas have a vote, there's no way Mack Brown didn't vote for his own team.
The coaches all agreed to vote for the winner of the national championship. The Utah coach broke that agreement. Mack Brown said he would vote for his own team, but I guess he changed his mind...
No idea, but the Utah coach broke the agreement apparently.
I hate to be technical, but the details matter here. The BCS rankings haven't changed since before the National Championship. In fact they stopped updating them. The AP and Coaches Polls are the ones that have changed.
Also, there's no way that Utah deserves to be #1 in my book. They've beaten just one championship caliber team in Alabama. There's no guarantee they would have gone 12-0 if they were to have played in the SEC. Don't like it? Start by scheduling teams better than San Diego State as part of your late season games.
Utah's Resume:
6-0 vs Bowl Teams
4-0 vs Top 25 teams
Beat Alabama like Fla could only dream of.
Were they deserving of #1? Yes.
You mean the same San Diego State that they have to play because they're in their conference? Right, that's what I thought.
Anyone who wants to ***** about Utah's scheduling...they scheduled their first game at Michigan, which any year besides this one is one of the toughest places to play in college football. And they played Oregon State too.
They beat BYU too, by 24. They also defeated Air Force, who's pretty solid. Also defeated bowl team Colorado State by a lot.
I hate to be technical folks, but they kicked Alabama's ass and they were #1 for quite awhile. Go Utah.
So this means that Utah's best opponent was matched by Florida. I'll give you that Utah is 1-A, maybe, in final regular season rankings, in hindsight of course since nobody then thought they were better than Oklahoma. But Florida beating Oklahoma means Florida is #1.
You don't deserve to earn baller points in the rankings by hammering perennial shitty football teams while the big boys in the strong conferences are beating their brains out. Strength of schedule matters.
And the excuse of Michigan having down year is negated by traditional Pac-10 doormat Oregon State having a surprise good year.
What impressive wins does Florida have? Alabama and Oklahoma. Utah beat Alabama, beat Oregon State(WHO BEAT USC), BYU, TCU, and others. Utah had just as impressive a year.
In fact, I believe it was URBAN MEYER two years ago who thought Utah(undefeated then too) deserved to be the #1 team despite not participating in the National Championship Game. Can't have it both ways Urban.
Oregon St: 9-4 last year, 10-4 in 2006. Some traditional doormat.
Lets talk about Florida's non-confernce schedule, They played the god damn Citadel, Hawaii and a down Miami (FL) team.
So if your going to knock Utah's schedule, Look at Florida's.
