How could I forget Marvin lewis? Yeah, his ass is gone!
Crennel ( I picked before i knew he was gone), Mangini is done in NY after that horrific effort today, and Jauron in Buffalo
I think Lewis and Phillips get one more year, although if I had to pick one to be fired it would be lewis
GONE: Marinelli, Mangini, and Crennell
Mangina took me by surprise
Score 3 already, awesome pace.
2 out of 3. Not bad.
Whoops, voted for Shanahan when I meant Edwards
How does he get another year? Someone explain this one to me.
I'd rather have Lewis than Phillips. The Cowboys are a victim of their own stupidity. The Ego's run that team and ran it into the ground.
Give Marvin a 85 (and Chris Henry) less year I'd be interested in seeing how he and Palmer would respond without that motor mouth.
Doesnt help that the Bengals are run by a top 3 moron.
Im a little surprised by the Jets firing Mangini. I thought theyd at least wait to see what Brett's MRI said. Brett was more of a problem for them (as evidenced by Mangini's lips after that one Int Sunday) IMO. Now theyre moving into a new stadium and short of Bill Cowher going to NY (which I dont see), are going to have a rookie coach and maybe a first year starter. I thought theyd wait and see what Farve's MRI said.
BTW speaking of Farve, he said he wouldnt go through surgery if thats what is found out is wrong with his shoulder/arm. So I predict he is FINALLY done in the NFL and will now retire to Mississippi riding into the sunset for good this time.
But Marvin Lewis is not a good coach!! He has been worse every year he has coached. So again, explain to me why he should be given another year while the Jets improved five games and still fired their guy. Lewis is awful on discipline, strategy and defense which is supposed to be his strength. Not to mention Palmer might not even be able to go in '09. He still might have to get elbow surgery.
Mike Brown kneecapped Lewis by bringing back Henry, drafting who he wanted, and the team ran a muck (with Johnson at the forefront) if Brown stayed out of it maybe the team might listen to Lewis. You dont forget how to coach overnight, he was a h-e- double hockey sticks of a dc with Baltimore.
Ive not see a lot of Bengals games and Im just goign on hear-say mostly. But Brown much like Davis usurps most coaches when it comes to personel, unlike Al though Brown's struck out more often than not and treads where even Al fears to go. Not saying Im saying Lewis is the answer, but theres bigger problems in that franchise it starts at the top and wouldnt matter if you had Vince Lombardi walk in the front door to coach the owner would figure out someway to screw it up.
1 - being a DC is WAY WAY WAY different from being a head coach. Ask Greg Robinson.
2 - It's partly Lewis's fault the team ran amok as well
3 - He's a bad coach
