    Porter's Top 16 - Week 15

This is how it should go. We have 34 bowl games right.

Top 16 teams take up the best 15 bowls.

Leave the other 19 for filler if they want to matter. I mean who wants to see the Papajohns.com bowl. This isn't Nascar. This is ****ing football.

I want an 8 teamer, we don't need 16...it's rare you'll even have 8 teams that could make a legitimate case...16 is unncessary. At least at 8 you include an undefeated team and a power conference one loss team as your 7 and 8...nobody wants Oklahoma State or BYU in the discussion.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

    1) Florida vs 8) Utah - The Urban Meyer Bowl
    2) Oklahoma vs 7) Penn State - JoePa tries to stop the nation's best offense
    3) Texas vs 6) Texas Tech - THE REMATCH
    4) Alabama vs 5) USC - Saban vs Carroll, 2 of college football's most storied programs

Who wouldn't watch those games??? I'm salivating at the thought of it.

I want a 16 team playoff but the difference is every conference champ gets a spot, you know so winning a conference championship...gasp, means something

You cant tell me that you wouldn't want to see TCU vs Texas Tech?

All the other subdivision have 16 teams. Make it uniform.

    Re: Porter's Top 16 - Week 15

If we adopted my system (16 team playoff, every conference champ gets in, no more than 3 per conference here is the matchups), BCS used as guideline for committee, just like the RPI is used.

#16 Buffalo (MAC Champ) @ #1 Oklahoma (Big XII Champ)
#15 East Carolina (C-USA Champ) @ #2 Florida (SEC Champ)
    #14 Troy (Sun Belt) @ #3 Texas (Big XII-At large #1)
    #13 Virginia Tech (ACC) @ #4 USC (Pac-10 champ)
    #12 TCU (Mountain West-At Large #1) @ #5 Alabama (SEC- At Large #1)
#11 Ohio State (Big X- at Large #1) @ #6 Utah (Mountain West Champ)
#10 Cincinnati (Big East Champ) @ #7 Texas Tech (Big XII-At Large #2)
#9 Penn State (Big X-Champ) @ #8 Boise State (WAC Champ)

2nd Round games played on campus at lower seed (NO Reseeding)

Final 4 played at 2 neutral sites (1 for semis, 1 for finals)

    Advantages to system:
    - Conference Titles carry meaning
    - Every conference has a chance at a title
    - Higher seed means home-field and weaker round 1 opposition
    - No complaining about not getting in (Teams left out lost multiple games)

    Disadvantages:
    -Playoffs favor hot teams
-Playoffs slightly flukier than 12 game season

I think this would be the way for them to go, better seeds get home field and easier opps while every conference has a chance to win a title, isn't that the point of sports. What would happen if the NL West didn't get a chance to play for a World Series? If the AFC West didn't get to send its champ to the playoffs? Everyone would be up in arms about it. NCAA football IS A PRO SPORT. As such it should be treated as such, and give every team that wins a title a chance at the national title.
