    Other Browntown's Top 25

    **** the BCS.

    1. Texas Tech (9-0) - I'm torn on the top 3, but they have the marquee win.
    2. Penn State (9-0) - I like their defense more than Bama - and they can still light up the scoreboard.
    3. Alabama (9-0) - They'll move up if they win this week...I'm still concerned with their ability to finish off a good team. Tennesee and Arkansas State don't qualify in that category.
    4. Texas (8-1) - Still might be one of the 2 best teams in the country when it's all said and done.
    5. Florida (7-1) - It's close between them and Oklahoma but - over the last 4 games, Florida has played as well as anyone in the country.
    6. Oklahoma (8-1) - This is a ridiculous #6 team...their offense is unreal.
    7. USC (7-1) - Wow, there are some good teams this year if these guys are 7...they'll need a lot of help to make the title game though.
    8. Oklahoma State (8-1) - Zac Robinson to Dez Bryant might be the best combination in college football this year.
    9. Boise State (9-0) - Taking away the Oregon game, which was on the road at Oregon, they've given up 47 points in 7 games. Not just an offensive juggernaut.
    10. TCU (9-1) - Taking away their one loss - at Oklahoma - they've given up just 73 points in 9 games. Might be the best TCU team since Tomlinson.
    11. Utah (9-0) - They've had a lot of close games - this week vs TCU is a season breaker.
    12. Ohio State (7-2) - Still looking at a possible Rose Bowl bid if Penn State should make the BCS Championship
    13. Georgia (7-2) - Hard to believe this team was ranked #1 at one point after the way they've played against Alabama and Florida.
    14. Missouri (7-2) - The 5th best team in the Big 12, but still in the driver's seat to make the Big 12 championship.
    15. Michigan State (8-2) - Around this point in the rankings it gets fairly unimpressive...they gutted out a tough win against Wisconsin though without Ringer playing well.
    16. West Virginia (6-2) - Don't look now but, we think they're pretty good again.
    17. LSU (6-2) - A decidely unimpressive 6 wins...their best one might be against South Carolina? Auburn?
    18. Georgia Tech (7-2) - The best team in the ACC?...that seems to change from week to week, but they might be.
    19. North Carolina (6-2) - ...or they might be
    20. Maryland (6-2) - ...or they might be.
    21. Ball State (8-0) - Play the 3 toughest teams in the MAC in their next 4 games...we'll see if they're for real.
    22. Brigham Young (8-1) - Can score with anyone, but they ned to start playing defense.
    23. Florida State (6-2) - Good god, the ACC is wide open.
    24. Arizona (5-3) - I know they lost their lost game but it was a 17-10 loss to USC which is not bad at all - plus they just beat Cal a few games ago, so I can't rank Cal ahead of them.
    25. California (6-2) - They've knocked off USC in the past when the Trojans were highly ranked - can they do it again this week?
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

I like it more when people think we suck, we play better as underdogs.

    Re: Browntown's Top 25

    1. Texas Tech (9-0)- Best win = #1
    2. Alabama (9-0)- tough game @ LSU next week
    3. Penn State (9-0)- Big X is horrible but they are pretty good
    4. Texas (8-1)- tough loss at TT, gotta hope OU beats TT
    5. Florida (7-1)- Might be the best team in the SEC
    6. Oklahoma (8-1)- Thrilled by TT win, now controls their destiny
    7. USC (7-1)- I'm not sure how good they are, ND might be the best test they have
    8. Oklahoma State (8-1)- they are good but going into TT and getting a win, i'm betting against it
    9. Boise State (9-0)- If OU beats to TT, Bama loses to LSU, Bama beats UF, Auburn beats Bama, Missouri beats OU, ND/UCLA beats USC, Iowa/MSU over Penn State most of those have to happen for them to make the title game
    10. TCU (9-1)- Big game at Utah this week
    11. Utah (9-0)- see above
    12. Ohio State (7-2)-Overranked due to preseason hype?
    13. Georgia (7-2)- see above, have to keep them here for now
    14. Missouri (7-2)- Not sure how good they really are
    15. Michigan State (8-2) - All the teams from here on are terrible
    16. Brigham Young (8-1)- Defense...you know its what you do when you don't have Max Hall on the field
    17. LSU (6-2)- I don't like them, but Saban coming back for the 1st time at night...upset?
    18. Georgia Tech (7-2)-The ACC is bad, but is this team good...
    19. North Carolina (6-2) - ...or is it this team, but without Tate it will be tough
    20. Arizona (5-3) - might be the 2nd best Pac-10 team
    21. West Virginia (6-2)- I think they are still terrible but i got no one left
    22. Northwester (6-2)- I didn't feel any big X love here
    23. Pittsburgh (5-3)- Gutsy win, how can they win at ND and lose at home to Rutgers?
    24. Ball State (8-0)- 3 top MAC teams left, so we'll see how good they are
T-25. Notre Dame (5-3)- Call it a homer pick but all of their losses are to top 25 teams and had leads at UNC and vs Pitt
T-25. California (6-2)- I think if they played it'd be close so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt

By your theory, just find a team that had more leads than Notre Dame.

Pittsburgh is in the poll at 23

The answer to all of these are bad losses
    * Kansas- lost to the ranked teams they played...difference was they got blown out
    * Tulsa- lost to SEC cellar dweller Arkansas
    * Minnesota- Lost to Northwestern, and the Big X is horrible, ND destroyed 2 of the teams (and MSU will destroy them)
    * South Carolina- Loss to an overranked LSU team at home, will lose 2 more games
    * Connecticut- got destroyed by an average WVU team, and they beat Duke...wow what a great win
    * Oregon St.- Got destroyed at Penn State, but do have the marquee win, let me see them beat a top 5 Pac-10 team to see if it was a fluke or legit
    * Illinois- Another horrible Big X team, ND would destroy them like they did Purdue and Michigan
    * Pittsburgh- In the poll
    * Cincinnati- Got destroyed by a bad Uconn team
    * Arizona - IN THE POLL
    * Miami (FL)- has horrible losses across the board
    * South Florida- Got destroyed by a bad cincy team (notice how none of the big east teams can beat the same people)
    * Oregon- maybe, did get blown out by Boise, if ND played Oregon today I'd take ND, had a bad loss to Cal
    * Kentucky- Horrible team, how did they get a coaches vote

they also have no bad losses, look at Northwestern, they are in the poll without any great wins (MN isn't that impressive), but no bad losses just like ND

    Re: Browntown's Top 25

Tell me how Notre Dame gets ranked ahead of California. Please explain that to me. (Considering Cal has a better record, has a victory over a ranked team, and beat Michigan State who Notre Dame lost to)
