And all the reasons you mentioned for why you should trade Brady are the reasons why no team would trade for that salary and those problems, especially two first rounders.

Yeah, Matt Cassel looked a lot like the next great thing today.

We should still trade Tom Brady, and start Cassel next year, that got any spine for you?

I'll take Matt Cassel and 2-3 1st round draft picks over Tom Brady any day of the week, the 3 impact players I can get for my defense for the slight downgrade at QB is well worth it

Or you can just franchise Cassell and get a 1st and a 3rd. Keep Brady and develop McConnell.

You'll have to resign Cassel first.

THAT'S LIKE SAYING THE RED SOX SHOULD TRADE JASON VARITEK FOR TIM LINCECUM.

THERE'S NO ****ING WAY ANY TEAM WOULD GIVE YOU TWO FIRST ROUND PICKS FOR A PLAYER COMING OFF A SERIOUS, SERIOUS KNEE INJURY.

    IT'S UNPRECEDENTED.

A player with 3 Super Bowl rings, franchise player, and QB isn't as hard on your knees as a position like RB. I think a team that is only a QB away would pay 2 1st rounders for a proven player like Brady. Before the surgery he was untouchable and if he was available for 2 picks someone would take a shot

Also, the Pats will have to franchise cassel as to get 1st and 3rd round picks for him if they don't trade Brady so thats not the problem

BS. Look at Randy Moss. The Raiders got like a 4th round pick for him. You're not getting TWO FIRST round picks....

Thats a horrible example and you know it, Randy Moss had emotional baggage and he had bad #'s at Oakland, no one knew if he was just being lazy or over the hill. There is no emotional baggage with Brady. Matt Schaub from ATL got 2 2nd rounders and a 1st round boost without ever playing full-time. And if Cassel will get us a 1st and 3rd (which he will as a franchise guy), then 2 1sts for Brady is not unreasonable at all

I think a major knee injury that has caused multiple surgeries will bring that value down a lot. Plus not many teams have the cap room for his current salary. Deion Branch went for a 1st. And dare we say what Dallas gave up for Roy Williams. So its a major crap shoot to see what comes out if they are stupid enough to trade Brady.

I see a similar deal that the Jets made for Farve before that stupid 2 1st rounder deal if the .0000000000000000000000000000000000001 chance they actually trade him.

He only had 1 surgery on the knee (others were rumors that never happened), the Jets gave up a 2nd rounder for 1-2 yrs of Farve, but you'll get 6-7 of Brady. If we got a 1st for Deion how can we not get 2 1sts for Brady? As for the salary cap, with non-guaranteed contracts its easy to make room for a guy like Brady and there are a few teams that are only a good QB away from being sick (Vikings, Bears come to mind).

I also think the chances of us trading Brady are much higher than that, Belicheck has a track record of trading the experienced QB (Bledsoe) and playing the young guy (Brady), loyalties have never stopped us before from making the team the best possible. I'd put the odds of trading Brady over Cassel at 25/75 right now, but we'll see how the rest of the season goes.
