NBA With Weiss gone, Knick fans may get a little Darko

    and some Marko.

The idea is dealing Zach Randolph and his underground farm to Memphis for Darko and Marko so D'Antoni can field a white wash of foreigners!

The Knicks have a trade proposal on the table with the Memphis Grizzlies that would see Darko Milicic and Marko Jaric dealt to New York in exchange for Zach Randolph.

An executive with knowledge of the trade talks said Friday that Knicks president Donnie Walsh initiated the Randolph-to-Memphis talks with the Grizzlies recently and it's up to Walsh to sign off on the deal. But it appears Walsh has cooled to the idea of trading his player, the executive said.

A Knicks spokesman declined comment Friday.

Milicic is reportedly owed $14.5 million over the next two seasons, and Jaric will make $21.3 million the next three seasons. The Knicks want to trade Randoph because his contract runs through 2010-11. He will be paid nearly $48 million over those three seasons.

The move would help the Knicks with their salary cap. It has been widely perceived that their goal is get under the cap before the summer of 2010 so they can make a run at LeBron James and other high-profile free agents who will hit the market that offseason.

id rather keep zach. hes relatively fat and worthless, but hes still a damn good rebounder. on the other side, jaric and darko do absolutely nothing worth a ******* thing. and jarics contract runs as long as zbos... if theyre gonna do this deal, then they shouldve just done zbo for a 2nd round pick that the clippers were offering back around the draft. but they supposedly didnt wanna sell him for nothing... so they decide darko and jaric is something?

if the knicks were an intelligently run ballclub... which they arent, but 'supposedly' walsh is gonna fix this team... the only contracts on the books the year lebron is a free agent, are zbo (15 mil), jeffries (7 mil) and jamal (9 mil). they have an option on curry for that year, which should outright be declined... and then hopefully they sign dave to a long term deal (wilson chandler too, and maybe nate depending on what he wants), but considering that schmuck d'antoni wants to trade him, i doubt that happens. so with 3 guys on the roster for that year, and i suppose gallinari if he doesnt prove to be outright useless... and its not like we're gonna win anytime soon, so giving any f.a. long term deals before that time makes about zero sense... we should be well under the cap and in shape to get bron bron. alas, we all know hes gonna go to the nets anyway, who will be in brooklyn by then, and he loves jay z, so this will all prove useless anyway.

Man, the word schmuck is classic. Like the 1975-77 white Cadillac Eldorado with burgundy seats that all the fat Italian dudes drive. I think that D'Antoni would drive one himself if the Knicks aren't paying him enough to upgrade to a Maserati.
