NBA Patrick Ewing Jr to the Knicks

ESPN - Rockets trade Ewing Jr. to Knicks for Weis' draft rights - NBA

Yep, Ewing Jr is following in his father's footsteps and is going to play in the Garden. This is really cool. What makes it even better is that all the Knicks gave up was the draft rights to Frederic Weis(seriously...stop laughing! I'm not joking!) Weis, for those of you who don't remember, was drafted 15th overall in 1999. He then got *** raped by Vince Carter in the 2000 Olympics:

So, after this he conveniently had a back injury and never came to the NBA.

What a great deal for the knicks. They gave up draft rights to a guy who they drafted 9 years ago and he never played a minute for them, and they get back a decent pro prospect who's father was one of the biggest parts of the franchise. Awesome!

It's a comical deal of great proportions.

Agreed. I mean, the Knicks got something decent for literally nothing. I mean, Weis got drafted NINE years ago.

...and, just like his father, he won't come anywhere close to a championship.

Assuming Ewing stays around long enough...he may have a shot to be on a decent team. Just wait till Donnie Walsh clears cap, signs Lebron, and brings a championship to NY.

...and then watch as my dream ends and I wake up disappointed.

It's Donte. And he's (as of now) mediocre. He's way to raw and will most likely do very little his first few years. Trust me, I saw him play last year. He has a LOT to learn.

Plus they gave up nothing. I'd say it's as good a TRADE as it is marketing.
