Them developing a coincidental pattern over the past 6 years doesn't mean anything for 2008.
6 years is a trend not a coincidental pattern. last year we stunk b/c the OL was brutal, that has been fixed(hopefully) and we were going to be good w/ or w/o favre. I think this move is actually risky as the ceiling is now higher but if he doesn't pick up the offense the floor could be lower.

People forget it was just 2 short years ago that we went 10-6 and made the playoffs. We have a very good OL, we have a very good duo at RB, we have excellent starting WRs(depth could eb a problem), we have it all at TE, the D was BETTER than GB's D last year after david Harris became the starter and we made many new additions to help out this D. Teams get good and bad quickly in this league, it's very dangerous to see 4-12 and think that's what they are heading into the next season.

    It's a coincidence.

They don't make the playoffs one year just because they did two years prior.

That kind of asinine logic tells us that they could have fielded a pop warner team this year and still made the playoffs just because they've done so the past 3 even numbered years.

I saw this thread was sticky'd for I don't know what reason, and while going into it to see who stuck it (myself) I saw his response that I must have missed back then.

Having nothing better to do at work I chose to reply.

Right now Favre is doing his best to mkake sure we don't make the playoffs, w/ Chad we are 5-2 or maybe even 6-1 right now. Favre has been brutal.

BS, with Chad Pennington, we'd be 2-5. Pennington didn't have an arm, didn't have the balls to make a clutch throw into the endzone, and had seemed to lose a bit in his most recent years in NY. He didn't throw a pick while in the redzone for like 4 seasons, but last year, it seemed like every time he got into the redzone, the ball was soon going the other way.

3-4 and 4-3 is not that far off from each other. Both teams are mediocre and that's putting it politely. And no one is impressed by Pennington's wide receiving skills.

How is Brett's arm working out for us? Looks good w/ all those INTs, right? Chad is HEALTHY and when healthy he is very good and playing ALOT better than Favre and he has Miami just 1 game behind us w/ half the talent to play w/.

Last year chad was playing hurt and we had no OL. Our OL is good this year, we upgraded around the QB, this year has nothing to do w/ last year. Favre is killing us on a weekly basis. There is no doubt at worst we'd be 5-2 and most likely 6-1 w/ the way Chad has played this year. I gave Favre a pass the first month or so but he is getting worse each week which isn't a good sign. Outside of the ONE great game he had against Arizona he hasn't done much.

If the Favre trade never happens the Jets are most likely 5-2 right now(I'll be conservative) and Miami has 1-2 wins. That trade made us worse so far and Miami alot better.
