He's 8th on the active list for yards per pass attempt.

And his 11.0 yards per pass completion is .1 lower than Drew Brees, but he's revered for his pass happy offense in N.O.

And he still throws for 203 ypg, which is on par with Eli Manning.

Isn't that what you want from a QB. Don't lose the game, don't turn the ball over, he doesn't have to be the guy to win out of nowhere. I can tell you after watching the 18 turnovers from JT O'Turnover this season. I'd rather have Pennington right now.

He was really good with Minnesota, why is society so what did you do yesterday, he was good with Moss there, he just never recovered from that knee injury.

Trent Dilfer is a middle of the road QB, the didn't turn it over and won't win you games, Pennington however, has the talent to take a team down the field on his arm to win a game in the 4th quarter. Tom Brady was good his first couple years and all he did was throw intermediate passes and screens, only when they got Moss did they learn how to throw it deep consistently, and Pennington's arm isn't that bad

The Jets are 4-3 w/ Favre and would be at worst 5-2 w/ Chad and likely 6-1. Favre is holding this O back and w/ a healthy Chad who knows this offense there islittle doubt we'd be better.

I do think passer rating is a bit overrated, but I'm also not in here calling Pennington an elite QB.

I'm just calling him what he is, a good QB when healthy.

He controls the game well and completes passes as displayed by his remarkable completion percentages (another stat you chose to ignore in favor of the 82 passer rating.)

I'm not calling him Peyton Manning here, but he's hardly Trent Dilfer either.
