Re: Strike 3 Forums Football League

Yeah but it directly affects the competiveness of the league if I don't

There are teams *cough nyjunc cough* that would get ZERO points from their defense for the SEASON.

I have a chance to beat the Empire, even with getting zilch from Brady and Ginn Jr.

Should I release Brady? Or should I just keep him since it's a keeper league and etc.

Re: Strike 3 Forums Football League

    Week 1 aftermath:

    P-Town Hurricane (Porter99) 213.53, ND Fightin Irish (ckjalt) 121.84
Skinny: The fantasy team is just like the real life team. No offense. Will you remember that STEVE SMITH IS OUT FOR TWO WEEKS? Willie Parker led the way for the Hurricane with 35 points. Terrence McGee had 15.54 to lead the hapless Fightin Irish.

MA Mounties (Foster) 179.47, nyjunc (nyjunc) 174.88
Skinny: Reggie Bush led the way with 29.5 points to escape with a victory over nyjunc. nyjunc got a whopping minus .30 from WRs not named Crotchery. Might have been the difference in this matchup.

BC Eagles (bwitty?) 73.22, Atlantic Elephants (not sure who) 59.23
Skinny: Nate Keading outscored the Elephants WHOLE DEFENSE. In fact both defense's combined to score 8.32 points. UPDATE YOUR TEAMS people!!!!!!

Brewcrewrock (brewcrewrock) 87.53, London Silly Nannies (DMB) 79.80
Skinny: Another lack of defensive matchup, These four teams would have all lost week one if they faced another team. Maybe DMB should get Peter Griffin on defense.

AP for MVP (mntwinsfan) 165.69, A View from a Farve (ljshorty?) 138.01
Skinny: Micheal Turner was the player of the week scoring a monster 59 points for carry twinsfan to victory. A View from a Farve might want to get some WR Production if they want to compete down the road.

Big Ben's Kingdom (Zito) 193.19, Empire (GiantsFanatic) 163.37
Skinny: If only Tom Brady stayed healthy. They would have been the clear favorite after week one. While Eli Manning should keep a strong Kingdom afloat. Empire has to find a little more depth to become one of the elite teams in the league.

    As of week 1

    Contenders (no order)
P-Town Hurricane (1-0)- Highest scoring team but only because the Chiefs actually did something relevant
Big Ben's Kingdom (1-0)- Looks to be really strong offensively. On par with the Hurricane's depth
MA Mounties (1-0)- Beware of Reggie Bush. Lots of weapons on offense but defense is a tad below the above two teams.
nyjunc (0-1)- Still has to work on the defense but i think they will come around later in the year.

    Darkhorses
AP for MVP (1-0)- You can't expect 160 points from your offense every week and expect to win. Not with that defense.
Empire- As stated above. They have to improve their depth or they will remain in the middle of the pack. But I like their outlook better than the lack of defense AP for MVPs.

    Pretenders
Everyone that has a lack of a defense to go with the lack of an offense. They know who they are.

This still a keeper league, but i will boot out people that won't update their team. Its once a week for maybe 5-10 minutes is all I ask. I reduced the Fumble Lost from -7 to -5. This could go lower if I feel that its still hindering good performances. Also what are your thoughts of locking Add/Drops for Sunday-Monday. You could still email me (Porter99_20@yahoo.com and I would go by worse record/lowest score after the week). Or leave it as it is currently?

My offense is terrible, only because my defense reads like a pro bowl team will I have a chance against anyone.

You're getting more out of your offense than I am right now. My QB scored 7 points his debut. Due to the loss of fumbles killing most teams.

I got Carson "I hate that spanish guy" Palmer under the gun, how the hell did I win with my 5?!?!!? points.
And after reading this for the first time, I added to the D.

P.S. does anyone know how long "stattracker" keeps going until we have to pay for it?

Damn I really enjoyed sitting around with the gang, having a couple "pops" and keeping track of my team.

Re: Strike 3 Forums Football League

I think if I had started Briggs and Abraham instead of Taylor and Dumerville I would have won.

But I'm glad I'm staying competitive, despite having the last pick of the draft, and getting all my defense via FA.
