    Spurrier to Miami?

    http://www.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/...111906abn.html

Despite Steve Spurrier's denials today in his weekly teleconference, sources tell CSTV that he is still heading to the University of Miami to replace Larry Coker as head football coach. CSTV first reported the story last night on Gametracker Live and SEC Football Nation.

Miami's wide receivers would turn to crap when they hit the NFL.

    Brewers

Another reason not to root for Miami. Spurrier is low on my favorite coaches and people list. Just like Miami players.

I believe that South Carolina gave Spurrier a raise of $500,000 per year and an extension in order to remain with the team.
"They asked me if I wanted the ball in Game 6, and I said yes. I'll always say yes. That's what I did with Jack McKeon. I told him, 'Let me see how I feel tomorrow.' I went out, did a long toss, came in and said, 'I'll pitch, I want it, I want to do it.' And it ended up working out." -Josh Beckett

Back to the drawing board .

(AP) — TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alabama athletic director Mal Moore says West Virginia coach Rich Rodriguez has decided to stay with the Mountaineers.

I hardly doubted WVU would lose its coach.

I am glad to see him stay put. I like it when coaches/players stay. It is not always about the $$$$.

At least from a personal perspective, lol. I would switch jobs for more money.

If youre talking about money like 40k to 60k ya I would to, but most of your big time coaches make anywhere from $1 million to $5 million whats the motivation to take more money so that instead of 4 Jaguars you can buy 6 brand new ones? RR used this to put the Athletic Department of WVU to test, if they failed he'd have bolted for the program that wants (and arogantly believes is predestined) to be the best.

Somewhere I saw coaches pay was listed and the extremes seemed to be USC coach and a couple others in the 4.5+ territory. RR was looking at going 1.1 mil to over 2 mil per at bama, why turn your back on home for a slight raise plus 10000000 headaches? why go from one BcS school to another for a slight (in coaching standard) payraise?

Yeah, plus Alabama has very demanding fans/boosters and the program itself is in disarray. But I could see him leaving if a place that wasn't so "messy" offered him a job.

I'm not buying for 1 second that he really wants to stay at West Virginia his entire career.
