    In addition to coaching the Celtics to nine titles, IMO, his greatest work was his wizardry in the front office. He suckered the Hawks to trade him Russell, exploited a loophole to draft Bird one year early, acquired McHale and Parrish in a trade for Joe Carroll, and flipped aging guard Gerald Henderson into a future No. 2 overall pick. His counterparts used to say "you just never know, with Red."

    I'm sure Lynch will have more to add and put into better words.
