    holy hell

anyone watching (or just watched) the agassi match?

thing goes 3+ hours, he comes down from four-love to win the match in a tiebreak and ends up winning the match 6-7, 7-6, 7-6, 6-2.

greatest first round match i've ever seen, and i'm not really into tennis
i'm scraped and sober but there's no one listening

you have to give both men props.

agassi is obviously out of his prime, and about 95% of his shots when he doesn't have his feet set are out, but he adjusts and such.

he's like the pitcher who used to be an ace by striking out 6+ a game, but now he relies on other stuff now that his fastball tops out at 88 instead of 96

Agassi getting all philosophical on us in his post-match on-court speech. He's quite zen.

I haven't been that emotional over a match in a long time. It was so rough seeing Agassi in pain for much of it, not being able to make that extra effort to get his legs into a volley, or just grimmacing in pain in general. At the same time, we saw how much of a warrior he still is and you remember why young Agassi was so great to watch. Not to mention that when we did get to see some vintage Agassi, it was sweet.

I still think he should've retired the same day Sampras did, but its his decision, not mine.

Andre, you will be sorely missed.
