Thread: The Officiak NFL Draft Thread

As for the Jets pick of Nugent, I actually like it, but I have some...odd opinions on the kicker and the value of one to a team. It's been a while since a team with a crappy kicker (I think you have to go back to before Denver's 2 titles) has won it all. We had Akers and Vinatieri last year.

If Nugent's praise is warranted, the Jets got notably better.

I thought the Jets had bigger needs than a Kicker, he could have fell to them in the 3rd at least.

I doubt he would have fallen past the Vikings at 49. Every Viking fan I've seen wanted him and that's the rumor I'm hearing.

With the 54th pick in the 2005 NFL Draft, The Carolina Panthers selects Eric Shelton, Running Back from Louisville.

Hes a good fit for their inside running game. But can he break it to the outside, you figure its a concern given the Injury History of Davis and Foster. But Shelton has had injuries in the past too. I think this is an intriguing pick.

Namely, overachieving hard worker, gives 100% on every play, and some attitude too (at least a mean streak). I like the pancake machine.
I agree with your Belichick comment. How about the Pats getting lot of picks? That's always a good thing.

Scott Pioli and Vikings pro scouting director Scott Studwell are two of the best in the business when it comes drafting.

    Last 3 Picks:

    WR Roscoe Parrish to Buffalo
    CB Darrent Williams to Denver
CB Justin Miller to the Jets

Parrish would be a great addition to the return game but hell they have McGee there right now. Hes a sleeper with his speed and explosiveness and more Hurricanes turned out pretty good lately.

Not too famliar with the other 2 picks.

Porter: What's your take on the Niners draft? They got lot of work to do.

Baltimore got a great guy in the 2nd round in Dan Cody. Great pick.

As for Belicheck, I have great faith in knowing what type of players he is drafting and that he'll get those players to play well. He has a pick coming up at the end of 2nd round, it will be exciting to see what he does with it.

They need to address a lot but getting a Center in round 2 when they desperately need WR kills me.

Davis Baas will be more of a guard for SF. You can never have to many OL. I think they are just trying to build up a good OL to help protect the QB, HB, etc.

There are still some decent WRs on the board the 49ers can get late.

New England traded the final pick in R2 to Baltimore. I hope they get something like a 3rd-4th this year and a 2nd-3rd next year, or even two this year. We'll see.
