I'm as shocked as anyone that the Texans didn't pick Bush but at the same time Williams is a freak, 6'7", 295 lbs., and runs a 4.73! While I agree Bush is a rarity and definately a special player, keep in mind the last player to carry Williams similar make up was Reggie White. I myself wouldn't have passed on Bush but at the same time I know I would have given Williams a lot of thought.

Now here is how I think the rest of the top 4 picks will go down...

    1. Texans- Mario Williams
    2. Jets- Reggie Bush (trade #4 pick, #29, and a few others)
    3. Titans- Vince Young
    4. Saints- TE Vernon Davis or OL D'Brickashaw Ferguson

The Saints aren't going to want to move down to far in the draft because they want someone to add to the offense to help out Brees... You could argue that if SF was willing to deal their #6 and #22 picks in the first round they would have the best offer of any team to move into the #2 spot if New Orleans chose to trade it, but, you won't see that happen because the 49ers have way to many holes to fill and trading away another 1st round pick won't help with what they're trying to do... Although, I think they should.
"They asked me if I wanted the ball in Game 6, and I said yes. I'll always say yes. That's what I did with Jack McKeon. I told him, 'Let me see how I feel tomorrow.' I went out, did a long toss, came in and said, 'I'll pitch, I want it, I want to do it.' And it ended up working out." -Josh Beckett

I really don't consider Williams a bad pick. To tell you the truth, I don't think Bush wanted to play for the Texans. Anyways, welcome Mario to Houston!
Yea RockSport you have a good point. I realize now that our FO knows what they are doing when they signed him. Anyways Welcome to the Texans Mario. Hope you can do some damage against our AFC South Rivals, especially the unbeaten (against the Texans) the Colts.

Welcome to the hotel for teams that royally mess up 1st round picks... You will be rooming with the Portland Trail Blazers and them passing on Michael Jordan for Sam Bowie have a nice time. .

As a Colts fan, I have to say that the Texnas made the right decision.

As an observer of football, I have to say the Texans made the wrong decision.

Wait. We're talking about 1st round picks, heck, look no further than Oakland....Oakland Raiders, they've got plenty of busts in the first round.

Texans won't be joining Raiders, Mario wasn't a screwed up 1st round pick.

NO will stay right where they are and take Bush to complement McAllister.
Tennessee will reunite Matt Leinart with Norm Chow.
Buffalo will get Vince at 8.

Eh, taking a mid-second round talent in the first round when Jason Allen(or Whitner) will probably be on the board? Doubtful.

Mario Williams is a stud, but why in the hell do you draft him over Reggie Bush. If your going to do that take D'Brick. HES A MUCH BETTER NEED.

Eh, I like Colledge or Winston better for Houston's blocking scheme than D'Brick. And the Texans probably do too.
