Just got back from The Da Vinci Code. Having not read the book, I still have to say that I'm slightly disappointed in the movie overall. A few things that I thought:
1. it's f*cking bullshit that Tom Hanks can solve all those anagrams in his head, not to mention figuring out Fibonacci numbers, secret hidden clues, solving a cryptex just like that, etc. He's a freak of nature!
2. The "Silas" character was bang on. Bang on, I say.
Definitely not vintage Tom Hanks. I didn't even think he had good chemistry with that b*tch Sophie. I'd wait for the DVD, and even then, it's just a rental. It's not the type of movie that you watch over and over; once you know how the clues are solved, then it's hard to watch it again.
