I had all of mine removed in September of 2004.

The first two days were a *****. It took me about two weeks to be at 100%.

non existant, uhh it was constant bleeding for about 2-3 hours but now its clotted up. stock up on boost, pudding, ice cream, soup, etc because you can't eat any hard foods.

Luckily I don't have to go through any of that crap.....but I've been through braces for 4 yrs.....so I definitely know how it feels to have your whole mouth in pain.

Hell I had a retainer in middle school and the orthadontics specialist said it wouldn't hurt and I took the day off from school because I was in so much pain.

    Dentists are liars and thieves.

Those who graduate from med school become doctors.

    Those who fail become dentists.

LOL. Yah I definitely know how that feels. But I wasn't able to take the day off....

Did you have the widener? (They could've called it something else where you're at)

Kramer: You think that dentists are so different from me and you? They came to this country just like everybody else, in search of a dream.
Jerry: Kramer, he's just a dentist.
Kramer: Yeah, and you're an anti-dentite.
Jerry: I am not an anti-dentite!
Kramer: You're a rabid anti-dentite! Oh, it starts with a few jokes and some slurs. "Hey, denty!" Next thing you know you're saying they should have their own schools.
Jerry: They do have their own schools!

No. I didn't have to do anything to the retainer. It was in my mouth for roughly a year and the only time I had problems with it was when one day, I chewed sunflower seeds and the right side of the retainer broke.

ooh....but no the widener isn't anything to do with the retainer. It actually is put in the mouth before braces.

A widener actually cracks the jaw, allows it to mend back together just a little bit wider.

It hurt like a *****, but after awhile you get use to it....

Not to mention, putting in the widener.......wow....not the best thing. Right after the hour it takes to be put in, they turn the key (which cracks the jaw) for the first time.....My eyes were watering.
