    Umbrellas, yay or nay?

It's raining here quite heavily and I got drenched as I left work. I could REALLY have used an umbrella today, but for some reason, I just think it hurts my image. I'd say that there is a big number of people who choose not to use their umbrellas even though they are carrying one. Others don't carry umbrellas at all. I would guesstimate that the ratio of umbrellas users to non-users in this region is around 60/40.

I don't remember the last time I used an umbrella.

Plus my hair looks awesome when wet.

You forgot the "No, I like the rain" option.

i never personally used an umbrella in my life because..

    1. i hate carrying it around
    2. i dont know how to shut it properly
    3. i'd rather just get soaked

I love rain, and I hate umbrellas, which hardly ever do anything anyway.

So no, thanks but no thanks. Every umbrella I've owned I've broken within 2 days of rain. Not to mention they're all wet and an annoyance to carry around.

Enough time in the military, and you don't even notice the rain.... as long as it is not a huge downpour that drenches you to the bone, I don't worry about covering up

My hat that I wear I'd like to consider that as my umbrella.

i dont use an umbrella starting in november because my winter jacket will soak up enough of it (and i put my hood up). during the summer i have one in my leather briefcase because of an incident in my first year of living in chicago. had to walk 6 blocks in a torrential rain (it was like 3 inches per hour of rain which is pretty intense). i was so wet i didnt get dry for about 5 hours. it sucked ass.

this year i didnt have an umbrella though, mostly because it never rained very heavily and i could hide underneath some overhangs in downtown.

I said no, I like to just run through the rain and get it over with. I would never bother with an umbrella.
