    Electrical Dysfunction

    At my house, I have been without electricity since early Tuesday morning (thanks Wilma, you *****), so I've been forced down the road to my parents. Can't complain, good food always. It's interesting to find how much you depend on electricity, when you suddenly don't have any for quite sometime. I can't imagine how folks who were victimized by Katrina & Co. are doing it.

    How long, unintentionally of course, have you ever been without power?
    Marshall: MILSWANCAs?
    Ted    : Wait, I can get this. Mothers I'd like to sleep with and never call again.

    about 2 hours..it was pitch black and i took my sisters pink mountain bike and road it across town.

    what really sucks is that it was only my grid that was out, and my grid goes out EVERY time we have a storm...so not even a few houses down there is power.

    Three weeks. Huge icestorm in January 1998 tore down power grid lines for a big part of the south of the province.

    It was the snowstorm of 1997-8 years ago to the day that Lincoln had record amounts of snowfall. It was an odd evening because it was light freezing rain and in the middle of the night I heard trees falling around my neighboorhood.

    We had underground electricity so the power was out for a short time whereas the rest of the neighboorhood, power was restored within two days.

    School was canceled for a week but had to make it up the following week by getting out of school at 4:30. I don't believe I saw ANY daylight for a week.

    I hate losing electricity. Year ago there was a huge car accident that hit the damn electricity box, and we were stuck wtihout electricity for awhile. Lets just say it was boring as hell and we really didn't have any place to go either other than stores or whatnot. After a little bit stores got pretty boring.
