    I hope my fish isn't dead

    Just got a tank setup a week ago. Fish seemed to be doing fine, then did a 25% water change on sunday. On monday, one of the fish was swimming all wierd and looked really weak. He kept resting on the bottom, and would get tossed around by the current. I got worried that the water wasn't right, so I went and bought $40 worth of testing stuff, and the water seemed to be ok.

    I did a 50% water change and added the water conditioner...I hope he's ok when I get home today.

    (oh, this is one out of 5 fish, the others seem to be ok)

    Circular logic aside, Mr Mims, you have yet to provide a single credible reason why you are, in fact, hot.

    Fish = $
    Fish = Die
    Die = Wasted $

    Well, that's what happens when you hide your crack in the water filter. :\

    I've owned fish. The best thing about fish. Seeing them in a store or at someone else's house. They are more work than most know and they die if you breath in the room too much. Worse than birds (although quieter).

    I'd like to have a 24/7 video or hologram of a live fishtank in my house. That'd be cool. No mess, no fuss. Just happy little filets swimming around.

    Update: The one died, the others are doing ok.

    They are a PITA. All this crap about cycling and ammonia and water changes...oh well, they still are very cool. Hopefully my tank settles down soon and it becomes as enjoyable as it was the first day.

    You forgot the die part.

    But seriously, you can't compare fish to human beings, it's completely different.

    I had some fish awhile back. I found them too hard to take care of, and the bigger fish eating the littler fish.

    My grandfather had tons of tanks around his house, and he had the filters, everything to do with fish that you possibly could have. Heck, most of his fish lived a very long time, years. He loved fish, and took care of them.

    With that said, I'm not a huge fan of fish, and would probably never buy one again. They die to quickly, and they're just not worth the time of cleaning out the tank.
