In the wake of disaster..... (please read)

I posted this at The NFL Forums as well, but I know the cross-forum traffic
isn't very high, so I'm going to put it up here as well.

    -------------------

    Please read:

With the recent catastrophic destruction that has been left in the wake
of Hurricane Katrina, we would like to encourage you to visit The Red Cross
website to see what, if anything, you can do to help out. There will
    definitely be relief needed.

Don't forget, we have a couple of our own that lived right in the path
of that Hurricane and we have yet to hear from them. When you click
the link above/below, please think of our missing friends. Not only do
we have them in our thoughts, but also the thousands of other families
that have may have lost loved one as well as everything they own
during this nasty act of nature.

Again, I encourange you to please consider helping out in any way that
you can, if at all possible.

    Thank you

I'm a blood donor! I count for something. Pints worth.

Hopefully we can hear from our missing posters soon. Of course, they are probably out of internet areas without a doubt. My prayers are definitely with them.

I have a feeling that the red cross is open on saturdays (and even sundays). Especially during times like this. Thank you slyder!

You can donate at your local grocery store. That's what I did.

I don't know if they do it where you guys live, but here when you donate, you get a scatch off ticket thingy in which you can win a new truck. I have never heard of that before. I suppose it's a way to entice more donors... o_O

They were giving away Braves tickets if you went down to the radio station and donated clothes.

Before the storm hit, I donated blood. Hopefully my community blood bank can help those that are in need. I also donated $1 to the hurricane relief fund at my local television station and I got an apple in return.
