All we can do now is pray, because the incompetent government waited till the last second to start evacuating.
Trust me, people aren't stupid, a lot that were going to leave already left yeterday. It is just the dumbasses in New Orleans who think that because they've never been hit before like they're supposed they think they're fine. A lot of people are refusing to leave. Unfortuanately if it does hit, a lot of people are going to die.

All the National Guard out reminds me of 9/11 in NYC, when there were Army trucks and soldiers armed with M-4s were in subway stations and on buses. All transportation was free.

There will be flucuations in intensity before landfall, but it is likely to remain a Cat. 5. It could even strengthen again. As I said last night... this is VERY, VERY serious!

The winds will be so strong that you could be lying on your back on the ground and float away down the street. Everyone in the path of the storm...please be very careful and evacuate if you are close to the coast.

Everyone in the Midwest...stay tuned as well, as it looks like some 4-6 inches of rain(with higher amounts in some areas) and tornadic/severe storms. Wind damage is possible WELL inland.

    Projected path:

We need the rain as well. Hopefully Katrina's storm can give us some rain, but I wouldn't bet on it.

You never know with these storms. We got an inch of rain this afternoon followed by a hailstorm.

This one is very wide, but the track wouldn't indicate you'd get anything that far west.

If that thing hits New Orleans directly we might be seeing the end of the french quarter. The city's already below sea level and could take forever to get all the water out.

The current projections have it hitting New Orleans DEAD ON! The water temperatures right off the coast of New Orleans are at 90 degrees, which will intensify Katrina. I just hope that the Superdome can hold out during a storm of this magnitude.

Man, I'd like to go swimming in that water, if the hurricane wasn't there. 90 degrees? That's insane.
