to the point, if Al Qaeda would have taken out DC instead of NY, I'd have personally sent them a thank you card. Irrational? Perhaps to a segment of the population, but another segment would have the exact same feelings.

Just the same when Bin Laden was killed. You had almost as many people saying what do you get with him dead? Nothing's changed, but it's a cathartic experience for those who gain something from it, much like slapping Kevin Dunn would be.

I use the two above examples solely because they were when I started looking into ethics and rationality.

As for the actual discussion, I'm not going to want to see any kind of physical harm come to Michael Bay if the Ninja Turtles movie proves to be a disappointment, why should I wish physical harm on WWE writers/bookers? It's just a fictional program (the results, let's not hash that debate) I'm not going to be irrationally upset about it like a child to the point of wishing physical harm on them just because they don't write it the way I prefer. But that's just me I suppose.

And I elaborated on it saying I was using it as an example of rational is a person's opinion and perspective. They are completely two different magnitudes of course and different situations and then on, but that's what popped to mind to illustrate my point.

Naturally, but to think say, annihilating the capitol building would cause the fabric of our society to disintegrate I don't think is proper cause. Most likely the entire structure would stay the same and we'd have emergency appointments and elections and all that I'd think.

Anarchy and Governing are just the same as Capitalism and Socialism same as Public/Government and Private run entities. They all have good and bad points because they are all human created ideas and thus are inherently flawed as humans are. There is no perfect answer and saying one's better than the other really comes down to preference. Most people would prefer structure and soundness and peace of mind.

For starters, you're no better a human being than corrupt politicians if you so callously wish death on people.

Secondly, if your goal is to keep killing and killing and killing until we no longer have politicians then we're back to square one of complete anarchy or government with corrupt politicians. I only brought up the point of fact that we'd just be electing more politicians when you pointed out that bombing DC wouldn't exactly take us straight to anarchy.

They're still human beings. I have basic compassion for human beings, even the ones who enact laws I don't agree with. Sure, it wouldn't be the same as losing a family member or close friend, but it's also not a "who gives a shit, they deserve it" type response either.

Furthermore, you brought all of this up in regards to the 9/11 attacks, which didn't exactly discriminate with their targets. In the original premise you brought up it wouldn't just be politicians who died, it'd be a bunch of innocent civilians in the DC area.

It's irrelevant to the actual discussion, but not the side-discussion that you spawned with your 9/11 analogy. You want to kill off politicians, which in turn kills government, which in turn kills social order. That was the natural progression of the idea.
