I'm afraid this is the extent of my beer drinking.

I've been neglecting beer for the past few years. I picked up a case of Heineken today.

    Re: The beer thread

It's always my go-to beer. I think I mainly acquired the taste for it and it grew on me.

I used to never drink beer until my 2003 deployment when that was the only option available to me when we pulled into Dubai (on the pier, not in the city itself). We had to be back at the pier where they had some stuff set up by 10 pm but not back on the ship until 2 am. They were selling beer there and the options were a bunch of American beers (Coors, Budweiser, etc) and Heineken. I randomly chose the Heineken and I've defaulted to that ever since.

I still prefer mixed drinks with vodka and whiskey (mainly) to beer, though.

    Re: The beer thread

Heineken is one of the very few eurotrash beers that I actually like.

BTW: here's a great example of what you can do with the time and a lot of partying with Heine bottles.

we could have easily done the same with Old Milwaukee bottles back in college. (many times over)

I know I'm late to the party, but there's a bar in town that keeps Heineken in stock just for me.

Anybody ever try Elephant? It tastes terrible but the buzz is strong in this one.

    Two things:

    1) I have NEVER seen a tiny little bottle of blue like that.

    you sure that's real?

    2) Nevermind, I'm classy as a muhfuggah. You should send that to me and I'll let you know if it's real.

I'll go halfs on any bottle of Johnnie Walker that you may have. I am always a big fan of whiskey.

I'm trying new beer I've never had before. I tried this. It's not bad, but not great either.
