I've been neglecting beer for the past few years. I picked up a case of Heineken today.

I think Heineken is my least favorite European beer

It's always my go-to beer. I think I mainly acquired the taste for it and it grew on me.

I used to never drink beer until my 2003 deployment when that was the only option available to me when we pulled into Dubai (on the pier, not in the city itself). We had to be back at the pier where they had some stuff set up by 10 pm but not back on the ship until 2 am. They were selling beer there and the options were a bunch of American beers (Coors, Budweiser, etc) and Heineken. I randomly chose the Heineken and I've defaulted to that ever since.

I still prefer mixed drinks with vodka and whiskey (mainly) to beer, though.

BTW: here's a great example of what you can do with the time and a lot of partying with Heine bottles.

Got the Sam Adams summer seasonal sampler 12 pack yesterday so they're currently doin the rounds in my house
