Apparently there isn't very many elevators and the wait time is longer than most people like. It's actually a common complaint on the reviews of the hotel in question, but most people only focus on the wait time and not the dumb "safety" complaint in the one I quoted.

I wound up choosing the hotel I was discussing here and the elevator complaint wasn't even accurate. There were 4 and they moved pretty quick.

It also had a unique system where you punch in your floor number from the wait area (as opposed to when you enter) and it coordinates them based on that. The complainers were likely confused by that and complained instead.

I don't think we've become that. I think whiners have always existed in the same relative capacity (same with dumb people everyone says is growing in numbers)

The Internet has just made us more aware of them and given them a bigger forum to whine from.

That is actually more accurate Leo, that it isn't that the whining has increased, but that we hear more of it and at lightning speed due to the instant access. It's still irritating.


People disagree with me when I say the same about violence, natural disasters and other horrific incidents, they have happened since the dawn of time but we hear about it within moments. In one day we can hear about an earthquake, murders, deaths from a tornado and some big money scheme scandal instead of it taking weeks, months or even years to learn of "bad news".

I'm running for mayor of my town. I'm a write-in candidate and have a lot of support in the town. Our population is 280 and I was elected as a write-in candidate for council with 13 votes. I think I can count on about 30 votes right now and that should be enough. Neither candidate on the ballot actually wants the job, they just don't want the other one to win.
