I hate Valentine's Day

I hate this day with a vengeance not known by many things. I see many people who want relationships just to say they are in a relationship to get stuff on this day meanwhile I want more than just the "privilege" of getting stuff for someone else and I sit here single with very few prospects from anywhere I have looked. If you truly love someone it should be a 365 day deal with no single day more important than the rest (with an exception to birthday and anniversary). I hate this day.

The only good thing about this day/week is my sister's birthday is tomorrow and we always go out to eat as a family together for it (just like we do mine) and that's always fun.

Staying off of facebook for a day or two because I just looked and I already want to throw up at some of the statuses.

Valentine's day is just a hall mark holiday. I think it's more for teenagers to come up with something to do for their significant other (which will end in a month).

I dont need a day to show the wife I love her because it's expected. I hate the gifts, chocolates, flowers, cards when it's expected. I like to do those things when she least expects it. It means so much more.

I always find it funny that the florist and card industries make millions probably even billions from Valentine's Day yet just about every guy "claims" he can't stand or doesn't participate in this holiday. Things that make you go....hmmmmm.
