Just bought MLB 06 the show!

I will be playing it tonight. I am excited to play it though because I tried a demo on it last night (go to your local electronics boutique and they should have them for free) and it was surprisingly slick. Very good commentary and I like the entrance into the stadiuam as the game starts. The graphics are not amazing, but not as bad as I expected at all.

I will give better updates later. Any questions, as away.

I am still thinking about getting take two as well. I am wondering if it is any better. I know Take Two has the WBC on it and it has some in depth scouting I think. Anyhow, I will let you know whatever you need.

I will be able to play it in a few minutes. That is the first thing I am going to look for. I will get back to you on that in a few Leo.

They only have AAA and AA. And you can't play as those teams. They just have the rosters available for callups and send downs.

I will have to keep my MVP 05 handy so I can play some minor league games.

    More to come...

    Any other questions, please ask!

How's the career mode? I remember that was fun last time I bought MLB, which was in 04.

Haven't tried the career mode yet but it looks real interesting. I know it is about building a player and taking him through the major league system I believe. I will look into that in a bit.

So far, I started a Reds franchise. The player movements, commentary, and overall flow of the game is far better than I have ever seen. (And I have been a die hard MVP fan the last few years). Crowd, PA system, and ballpark music are outstanding. Far better than anything I have seen there as well. Batting stances are decent at best. Player graphics are decent at best. I can't judge stadium graphics too much yet as I have only played at a spring training park so far.

The starting lineup at the beginning of the game went something like this:

"starting it off will be the multi talented Ryan Freel."
"Batting third will be Ken Griffey Jr., he will be wearing number 3 this year."

Things like that are really close to making it feel like you are really watching a real baseball game. The PBP is very nice.

Anyhow, let me get back to the game...

I'll probably stick with the Take 2 game, but if/when this goes down into my price range, I'll buy it.

I like the career mode, you can forward through the games to the next time your "career" player has an event (I.E. AB's)......this option is great for me considering I don't have time to play every game. The bad news, I am on an 0-20 string and the manager just told me I needed to pick up the pace.
