the 3DS came out with a bang

the new Kid Icarus game is long awaited, some other 1st party titles, and going back to N64 titles like Legend of Zelda and Star Fox, and looks like a lot of 3rd party support


as for E3, Sony and Microsoft bombed big time, big disappointment, too much attention put to Move and Kinect

Leo got me hooked on watching those stupid AVGN videos. But he's so right! I can't stop watching them.


I've taken a break from 360. I've Call of Duty'ed out for now. Can't wait this fall.. Halo Reach, Black Ops, and the Force Unleashed 2. Good times.

AVGN is classic

I hate halo,, so boring, and Black ops im not excited for, Force Unleashed 1 was a let down for me but i hoping 2 is better

the game i'm most excited is Star Wars: The Old Republic, i don't play MMOs but i'll be playing this one

No they didn't. What did you want Sony to come out with, PSP 2 or PS4?

The Move and Kinect effectively ended the Wii's niche, motion controlled gaming.

Nintendo needed to come out with a HD Wii. Otherwise, they will continue to get dominated by Sony and Microsoft.

Sony I will start with, I give them credit for Twisted Metal but thats it, well maybe inFamous 2 too.

GT5 been in development for what 6 years? if it was released 2-3 years ago I might care

what's wrong with releasing a PSP 2? Why not make a splash, with Nintendo's release of the 3DS? PSPGo is bombing, PSP picking up lately but that because of, SNAKEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!

Move and Kinect, if they tried within 2 years after the wii's release they might have hurt Nintendo's share but imo its too late now, everyone has a wii now and why should people (the casual market) who has a wii, care about another system meant for basically the same thing (motion control), cuz of HD? That's really a reach to expect the casual market to pick up a new system because of HD graphics and nothing else.

the 360 slim won't help that much, not like Sony's ps3 slim helped them, because people were too fed up or scared with the RROD and they already had or didn't want a wii.

and that last sentence, Nintendo is indeed dominating Sony and Microsoft, if you think otherwise you're fooling yourself, why else would Sony copy Nintendo? Microsoft doing it in a different way, at least they're trying.

I'm not going to pretend to be an expert on who's figuratively dominating who, because I'm not, but I'll chime in on this.

Nintendo does not have to be dominating the competition for Sony to copy them. Whether or not they're beating the competition in sales (Which I honestly don't know if they are or not) they still proved that that technology sells.

yes it prove it sells but will the casual market who has a wii already (who I'm guessing got at least half or more of the wii's out there (about 35-40 mill), go out and get a ps3 with Move in a bundle for $400 (US), just for HD graphics?

and let's say X360 and Kinect is the same $400 in a bundle (no price yet for a bundle deal), since the new 360 slim is 300 and Kinect is 150.

I'm not arguing that it'll work, I'm simply saying that motivation would exist whether or not Sony is losing to Nintendo in overall sales.

In my opinion, Wii has flamed out. In marketing terms, all of the early adopters have gotten them. Its at a laggard stage right now, which means they need to come out with a new, more powerful system to compete with PS3 and XBox. If you look at sales in Japan, PS3 has now overtaken the Wii. The only advantage Wii had was motion controlled gaming. Now that Sony and Microsoft has developed their own systems, the Wii no longer has that niche market to pull from.

Yeah, you can buy a system, but what will it get you? Decent to great 1st party games and garbage 3rd party games. Face it, the Wii sucks. I have one and I never play it, primarily because there are no games for it that are worth a crap except the Mario games (Kart, SMB, etc). The PS3 and Xbox are technically superior to the Wii in every way, especially since they now have motion capability. The PS3 is the best system simply because it has Blu-Ray and doesn't break as easily as the XBox.
