    Thumbs Up New pilots coming

    Buster is back!

"Arrested Development" and "Chuck" alumnus Tony Hale has joined the cast of ABC's comedy pilot "Awkward Situations for Men."

Matt Letscher ("Eli Stone," "Brothers & Sisters") has also signed on to the pilot, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The show stars British comic/author/TV presenter Danny Wallace ("Yes Man," "Join Me") as a version of himself who moves to America and experiences culture shock.

Also, we have a new office-based comedy named Outsourced which sounds intriguing.

    - NBC has added a drama called "The Cape" and a comedy called "Outsourced" to its pilot roster.

"The Cape," from writer Tom Wheeler ("Empire"), is a comic-book-like drama about a police officer who's framed for a crime and takes on a secret identity in an effort to clear his name. "Outsourced" is based on the 2007 indie film of the same title about a manager who gets demoted and is sent to India to train a group of customer-service reps. "George Lopez" and "Late Show with David Letterman" veteran Robert Borden is writing the TV adaptation.

ABC is doing good lately with comedies after the successes of Modern Family, Cougar Town, Scrubs, etc. Hopefully this one turns out to be good as well.

    - Two comedies have the green light from ABC. "How to Be a Better American" is about a man determined to make himself and his reluctant family better citizens; it's from Steven Cragg and Brian Bradley ("Scrubs," "MADtv"). The other project is from comedian and writer Dana Gould ("The Simpsons"), who will play a high school counselor and father to two young kids.

Outsourced does sound interesting, but a George Lopez writer? Eh... Then again, one of the creator/writers of Modern Family worked on some pretty unspectacular things before making Modern Family.
