Thumbs Up Happy 20th Birthday Simpsons!

I know there are some fellow Simpsons fans here and 20 years ago today The Simpsons made their debut on FOX:

and boy, they haven't changed a bit:

The Simpsons is so good that to make this thread, I had to steal a joke from them.

Ten years from now, we'll be celebrating their 30th anniversary. Still on the air.

Unfortunately, they have not aged like a fine wine. Those early-to-middle seasons were though.

To be fair though, since the move to HD, there has been a few pretty good episodes. I think it'll be hard for any show to ever be as good as the Simpsons were back in the seasons you mentioned however.

The episode last night was pretty good, the last act was the best.

But man, I LOVED the special that showed after it. So many great clips and I thought Spurlock did a wonderful job. I loved hearing at the end how Conan would end The Simpsons. I would paraphrase it, but it wouldn't do it justice. Oh and seeing Andrew W.K open the episode up with the piano notes of the theme was just icing on the cake.

Yup, that documentary was pretty great. in 3D! on ICE!

It really tailed off a few years ago, but its really been pretty strong the last year or two. A few stinker episodes here and there, but in general the quality is right back up where it should be.

I like the clip in the documentary about fans going up to the writers and yelling "the show isn't as good as it was 5 years ago", and he says "well, either are you".

I haven't caught a lot of the newer episodes after the movie came out, but like said before, the early to middle episodes were gold. I basically grew up with the Simpsons.
