He only had a small cameo in the first movie, wasn't even in the first game. I think if they leave him as a detective or something, he can be a non factor again.

and I haven't followed the series in a long time to know Scorpion and Sub-zero are mortal enemies. The last I recall, Sub-zero evaded capture from the cyborgs Cyrax, Sektor, and Smoke from his old ninja clan, while Scorpion was the dude from hell.
