    Re: WrestleMania XXV

I've not watched wrestling for years, and then all of a sudden I looked it all up on the net and found this was happening soon...And at one point got confused cause I thought it was XXVI this year, and that it had just gone. I missed that it said 2010!

I might watch it though, if I have the money to view!

    predictions:

    WrestleMania 25 Pedictions | UGO.com

    regarding HBK/Undertaker
I think this is going to be the match everyone remembers from this Mania. Both guys are just at that point where they can still go and put on a classic. I really enjoyed the build up, especially when HBK snuck in that superkick, but WTF was up with that HBK in the graveyard straight out of the 90's promo crap! Wow, that was some silly sh*t! I mean SOOOO old school. The dialogue was good, but the presentation was so corny. I'm shocked HBK agreed to do that. I think he's going to do some of those parody videos that he does well so, that should get the heat back up. I think they are keeping HBK strong because he's gonna do the job. The streak isn't worth breaking for HBK, and jobbing to Taker isn't going to hurt Mr. Wrestlemania one bit. However, should be the match to watch as these two vets know how to step it up.
    regarding HHH/Orton
Orton is the hottest heel in the company. Maybe not the best one (that honor falls to Jericho and Edge), but when Paul Heyman declare this "The Golden Age Of Heels," Orton is the centerpiece. The WWE is going all out to make Orton the most hated man in the universe. So far they've done a good job building it up. A few hits (the initial punking out of Stephanie), a few misses (the overdone home invasion), and one grand flipping slam that made it feel like a Mania match: This past Monday's angle with Orton kissing an KO'd Steph. I think these two will put on a very good match, maybe with McMahon cameos, but, my God, if they don't put the belt on Orton then they truly have lost their minds. As we discussed when UGO axed me, HHH is at that HBK and Flair point, where he doesn't need a title to be over, so he has to take it for the team and put Orton over. And HHH, to his credit, I think realizes this and does have a history of putting people over at Mania. If the WWE truly wants to make Orton the biggest heel on the planet, then he has to win. He must. It's what's best for the future of our great sport. They just need to be careful that they don't make Orton such a bad ass that they turn him face...
interesting thoughts. I kind of agree about Orton, but then again you never know. I guess a rematch at Backlash would be in order if Orton does win. They've made it about HHH getting revenge and if he loses, then he doesn't get it.

And if they don't pull something out of their ass with the Jericho/Legends match, then that's disappointing as is IMHO.

Are there two less interesting personalities right now than Orton and Jericho? The Orton/Austin comparisons...I just can't see it. Austin could work the mic. Orton is a monotone bore, quite honestly.

And Jericho? Could he look more disinterested? The guy is as boring as baseball.

Jericho was much better when he was in WCW.

No doubt. His luchador unmasking spree was fun.

When he was a little more energetic, and less lame to be quite honest, he was pretty entertaining.

Before the Lion Tamer/Walls of Jericho devolved into a Boston Crab, he was entertaining.

During his "Would you PLEASE...SHUT...THE HELL...UP!!!", "Welcome to RAW...IS...JERICHO!!!", Y2J days, he was entertaining.

The pony tail sprouting from the top of his head was gay as hell, but he was still a hoot.

    Ruined their finisher?

The Lion Tamer is so much more better than the Walls of Jericho. (Although the "Walls of Jericho" did resemble the Lion Tamer at first.)

Batman isn't real and Christopher Nolan decided how the movie would end before it hit the big screen. I'm sure that didn't stop you from watching The Dark Knight.

Unlike the WWE, the Dark Knight had:

    A.) A good plot

B.) Great special effects (sorry, fake wood tables breaking at pre-cut points doesn't qualify as special effects)

    C.) Good acting

D.) Some semblance of suspense. Yeah, you know Batman will live, but that's really about it. WWE? You pretty much know what's gonna happen in a match.

I do not disagree with any of these, and that is why I do not watch the WWE any more.

The WWE used to have a lot of that (minus the special effects, and not at the same level as the Dark Knight, but enough to be interesting) but it's degraded over the years to the point of suckage.

But none of this is ever the points that are used to scoff at those who watch it.

It's always "OMGz! It's fake!" "ROFL! They predetermine who's going to win!"

Like as though that alone should be reason enough to not watch it, and like as though those that watch it don't already know this.
